Udaipur: After being appointed as the Governor of Assam, former Leader of the Opposition, Gulab Chand Kataria, arrived at his hometown in Udaipur on Saturday. He was given a warm welcome at the Dabok airport.

Hundreds of BJP workers welcomed him with slogans in his support. Kataria was made to wear a Mewari turban brought into the city in a procession. An event was also organised in Govardhan Vilas area in his honour. Kataria said that a party runs not because of its leader but from its workers. Talking to the media, he said that he did not come from a family with a political background. “I joined politics for service and today I have got the responsibility of a consti- tutional post, so I will try to fulfill it well. A party runs with thousands and lakhs of its workers. PM Modi came after Atal Bihari- ji. After Bhairav Singh ji in Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje came. One who shows arrogance in politics, gets destroyed,” he said.

Jaipur: The State Government has sealed the order of PCCF & HoFF DN Pandey to ban VIP culture in the jungle safari. The facility of free entry will not be available more than twice a month.

Senior officers of the area concerned are authorised to grant permission for free entry in National Park, Sanctuary, Protected Area. Principal Secretary of Forest and Environment Department Shikhar Agarwal gave instructions in this regard.

‘Meri Policy Mere Haath’ campaign on Saturday by distributing the policies of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to the farmers in Gram Panchayat Kalkh, Jobner (Jaipur).

Kataria said that due to non-availability of hardcopy of the insurance policy on time, the farmers faced problems in getting insurance for bad crops. To address this, the policies are being distributed by the State Govt through camps in the villages.

Kataria said crop insurance scheme provides relief to the farmers from calami - ties like heavy rains and hailstorms. With continuous publicity and timely payment of insurance claims, the popularity of this scheme is increasing in the state. He informed that in the last four years, insurance claims worth Rs 18,500 crore have been distributed to about 1.90 crore farmers.

The amount of Krishak Saathi Yojana has been increased one-and-a-half times from Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 7,500 crore. For the construction of a farm pond, 50,000 farmers will get the benefit of grant, which has been increased from Rs 90,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje visits Durlabhji Memorial Hospital to meet the Mahant of Trinetra Ganesh Temple. The BJP leader also met Mahant’s son Nikunj Dadhich. Mahant Brijkishore Dadhich presented a picture of Lord Ganesha to Vasundhara Raje and asked her to visit the temple to seek the blessings. Ashok Parnami was also present at the hospital.
