Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed to leaders of 14 Pacific Island countries that India is ready to share its capabilities with them “without any hesitation” and announced new development initiatives in sectors such as healthcare, cyberspace and small and medium enterprises.

Modi made the announcements on the new initiatives at the FIPIC (Forum for IndiaPacific Islands Cooperation) summit.

Imphal: Security forces were rushed to Imphal after fresh clashes broke out again on Monday afternoon. Tension gripped Imphal after a mob set on fire houses in the Imphal East district. The Army and the paramilitary forces have been rushed in to control the situation.

Following the arson, the state govt has shortened the curfew relaxation which now ranges from 6 am to 2 pm. Earlier, the curfew was relaxed from 6 am to 4 pm.

OVER 7,500 PEOPLE FROM VIOLENCE-HIT MANIPUR

FLEE TO MIZORAM: OFFICIAL

Aizawl (PTI): Over 7,500 people have fled to Mizoram from the violence-hit Manipur, an official said on Monday. A total of 7,527 ethnic Zos, known as Kukis, have crossed over to Mizoram till 5 pm on Monday. They have taken shelter in eight districts of the state. Kolasib has the highest number of displaced people at 2,685, followed by Aizawl (2,386) and Saitual (2,153), he said.

A section of Meitei and Kuki communities of New Checkon locality of state capital Imphal had clashed, according to police sources. The clashes had started over space in a local market.
