G20 delegates arrive in Srinagar for 3rd tourism working meeting
Srinagar: About 60 foreign delegates arrived here on Monday for the third tourism working group meeting of the G20 countries, the officials said. This is the first international meeting being held in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into two Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh — in August 2019.
Officials said the delegates from several countries of the G20 grouping arrived in a chartered flight at the Srinagar international airport in the morning amidst tight security.

They said the delegates were taken to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), the venue of the meeting, amid heavy deployment of security personnel along the route.

Bhopal: Former Chief Minister and Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath on Monday hit back at BJP’s state unit President V.D. Sharma, a day after he claimed that central agencies investigating 1984 anti-Sikh riots would also frame charges soon against the former. Veteran Congress leader said Sharma made false allegations in an attempt to hide his involvement in corruption. Nath said no one could raise fingers against him in the last 45 years of his political career, and even an inquiry committee on the matter setup by BJP govt has given him clean chit on anti-Sikh riots. He also claimed that the committee was setup by the BJP govt.
They said security has been beefed up across the valley with the elite NSG and Marine Commandos helping police and paramilitary forces to secure the venues of the event, they said.

New Delhi: A report by the intelligence agencies has revealed that Pakistan-based terrorist outfits, ISI, and their agents in India have been pressed into action to defame the country on international platforms and disrupt the G20 meeting in J&K. “The sentiment is highly negative because people are protesting against the G20 meeting and sharing the details on social media platforms. They are using the hashtags like #bharat_jammu_kashmir_chordo and #boycottg20, “ said the report.

Indian intelligence agencies have learnt that the wife of incarcerated senior Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Mullick had also asked the international community to boycott the G20 meeting in Kashmir. Mushaal had even threatened the G20 nations, stating that if they attend the meetings, they would be seen as siding with the oppressor by accepting PM Modi’s invitation to participate in the event. The agencies have proof regarding this.

New Delhi: India’s presidency of the G20 group of leading nations has become mired in controversy after China and Saudi Arabia boycotted a meeting staged in Kashmir, the first such gathering since India unilaterally brought Kashmir under direct control in August 2019. The meeting, a tourism working group attended by about 60 delegates from most G20 countries taking place from Monday to Wednesday.

Pakistan: As India is hosting the third G20 tourism working group meeting in Srinagar, a frustrated Pakistan has been rattled by the overwhelming response to the summit in the UT. Bilawal claimed the G20 meeting in Srinagar was a “violation of international law”. “India cannot suppress the voice of Kashmiris through a conference. By violating the UN resolution, it is not possible for India to play an effective role in the world,” he was quoted.

New Delhi (ANI): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan topped the list of 10 main targets that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi planned to eliminate, the notorious criminal confessed to the National Investigation Agency, officials said.
Lawrence Bishnoi said that in the year 1998, Salman Khan hunted the black buck, which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community and to avenge the hurt sentiments of the community the gangster said he wanted to kill the actor. Bishnoi confessed to the NIA in December last year that on acting on his directions his aide Sampat Nehra had conducted a recce of Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has busted an Al-Qaeda module and arrested four members who hail from Bangladesh but have been living illegally in Ahmedabad, an official said on Monday. They were tasked with raising funds for Al-Qaeda’s illegal activities, radicalising local youths and persuading them to join the terror outfit, said Deputy Inspector General, Gujarat ATS, Deepan Bhadran. They were arrested from different parts of Ahmedabad.

Chandigarh: Four shooters of the Bishnoi gang have been arrested and six pistols along with cartridges were recovered from them, Punjab Police here on Monday said. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said the accused have been facing several criminal cases registered in Punjab and Haryana. “In a major breakthrough, AGTF arrested four shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Six pistols and 26 live cartridges were recovered from the accused,” Yadav tweeted.
