Who will present state Budget in Council, asks Opposition

Mumbai: Expressing concerns over the delay in cabinet expansion, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, on Tuesday said that the “government should not delay decisions which hamper the interests of the common people”.

The Maharashtra Assembly Budget Session commenced on Monday and will continue till March 25. The Budget is slated to be presented in the House on March 09.

unclear who will present it in the Upper House (Council). When asked about the minister who will present the Budget, CM Shinde tossed the question to Fadnavis. However, Fadnavis said that a decision would be forthcoming in due course. “Any one of the ministers can be ap- pointed to present the budget,” he clarified. Despite forming the government in June last year, the Eknath ShindeDevendra Fadnavis government is still awaiting cabinet expansion.
At first, the cabinet only comprised of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
