First India Bureau Mumbai: Congress has alleged that industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have a close relationship. Also, Adani has given a lot of money to BJP in the last 20 years. As soon as PM Modi stood up for his speech on Thursday, the Opposition raised slogans. Despite that, Modi continued his speech. MAN HELD WITH MEPHEDRONE WORTH `16.60 LAKH

Mumbai: A man was arrested in the Palghar district of the state, allegedly with mephedrone (MDMA) worth Rs16.60 lakh, a police official said on Friday. “We found 83 grams of mephedrone worth Rs 16.60 lakh with him. He has been charged under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,” the official said. The police have also seized the mephedrone as evidence in the case. GOLD, FOREIGN CURRENCY SEIZED AT MUM AIRPORT

Mumbai: The Customs department has seized gold and foreign currency worth crores from different passengers at the Mumbai airport, officials said. According to officials, the department seized 2.8-kilogram gold worth Rs1.44 crore from the possession of three passengers coming from Sharjah, Bahrain and Dubai. Officials also nabbed two other persons carrying Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) 90,000 and USD 90,000.

FIRE BREAKS OUT IN LIC OFFICE, NO ONE REPORTED HURT

Mumbai: A fire broke out in the Life Insurance Corporation office in Girgaon, south Mumbai on late Thursday night. According to an official, the fire started in the second-floor office of LIC in the Marina Mansion building. Fire brigade personnel were immediately called to the spot and the fire was doused within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported due to the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
