India positioned to champion aspirations of Global South: Puri
Bengaluru (ANI): Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs & Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri said that India is demonstrating that economy and ecology are not at odds with each other, but in fact, fundamentally intertwined, an official statement said, adding, “India is uniquely positioned to champion the aspirations of the Global South’. “The Working Group can be the cata- lyst for the G20 countries to adopt the core tenets of the LiFE movement and promote the uptake of sustainable living at a global scale,” Puri said.

New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed his solidarity with the people of Turkey in their grief and deep difficulty. “He said that India commiserates Turkey’s loss, and will continue to extend all possible humanitarian and medical support in this time of need and said that the outpouring of support to Turkey from people and leaders across the world is a powerful reminder of the shared humanity that connects us all,” an official said.

New Delhi: Omicron and its sub-lineages continue to be the dominant coronavirus variants in India, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar told the Lok Sabha on Friday. During the last 60 days, over 90 new variants of SARS-CoV2 have been detected in samples analysed by INSACOG, a national multi-agency consortium of genome sequencing laboratories, the minister said. Omicron and its sub-lineages continue to be the dominant variants in India. Of these, XBB and BQ are the most prevalent lineages circulating in the country, she said. The Health Ministry is following COVID-19 trajectory globally and in the country along with various expert committees.
"Some people want to do politics on everything. I know why they are doing this as I have taken strong action against those medical colleges which don't have faculty, infrastructure and patients," he asserted.
Tripura polls: EC bans opinion and exit polls

Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura, Kiran Gitte on Friday said that opinion and exit polls have been banned till 7pm of 27th February. Talking to reporters in Agartala, Mr. Gitte said that only print media can publish the advertisement of political parties on 15th and 16th of February.
However, such advertisements will need prior approval from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee. The
CEO added that election campaign-related activities will not be allowed in electronic media 48 hours prior to the polling day, as it may influence the voters.
