Addressing an event in Wardha, Deshmukh said, “You all know I was kept in jail for 14 months under false al- legations. I had received an offer for a deal. Had I accepted, I wouldn’t have been in jail. The MVA government would have got toppled even before 2.5 years, if I had accepted the offer, but I didn’t go for settlement.”
“Param Bir Singh (then Mumbai Police commissioner), in an affidavit submitted in court, stated that the accusations against me were based on hearsay and that he had no evidence against me,” Deshmukh said earlier.
He said, “Param Bir Singh and Sachin Vaze (Mumbai Ex-cop) made false allegations and I had to stay in jail.” l The five-day event will showcase India’s growth in aerospace and defence capabilities l Nearly 809 companies from across 98 countries are taking part in the Aero India 2023 l The Made-in-India Tejas aircraft and the INS Vikrant as examples of the India’s defence potential lOver 251 MoU worth `75,000 crore likely to be signed between the Indian and foreign defence firms

Time to teach ‘traitors’ a lesson: Ajit Pawar
First India Bureau
Pune: NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Monday said it was time to teach a lesson to the “traitors” who halted the good work being done by the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra.
Pawar, who was speaking at a rally for the Chinchwad bypoll, was referring to the June 2022 rebellion of
Ekanth Shinde, which brought down the Uddhav Thackeray government. Shinde became CM with the support of BJP.
Pawar was campaigning for NCP colleague and MVA candidate Nana Kate.
“By winning these two seats, we have to show everybody the MVA government under
Uddhav Thackeray was doing good work before traitors put a halt to it. The time has come to teach them a lesson.
That is why these bypolls are so important for us,” Pawar said. “This exertion was unbearable for them but they remained silent for the party. The BJP should have understood health is more important than polls but these selfish people (BJP leaders) did not pay heed,” Pawar alleged.
Addressing the gathering, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said the MVA will win these two bypolls in the same way it defeated the BJP-Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena combine in the recent MLC polls.
“According to surveys, if Lok Sabha polls are held today, the MVA will will 34 to 36 seats and the BJP-Shinde faction 12,” he claimed. He also criticised the Shinde government for “allowing industries to move to other states”. Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole was also present at the rally.
