Mumbai: Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Sports Anurag Thakur on Monday convened a series of district core meetings to consolidate the organizational base in the Mumbai South Central parliamentary constituency as part of the party’s Lok Sabha Pravas Yojana (LSPY) outreach campaign.
The BJP’s central leadership had shortlisted 160 “tough seats” from the total 545 constituencies, which were to receive special focus as part of preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elec- tions. Eighteen of Maharashtra’s 48 constituencies are on the list of tough seats.
The BJP is also looking to use LSPY to deepen inroads into Mumbai ahead of the polls to the cash-rich Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), slated to be held this year.
