State govt approves `172 crore spend for construction of new Thane court building
Thane: The state government has approved Rs172.13 crore for the construction of a court building here in Thane, an official said on Monday. While the initial estimated cost of construction of the basement-plusstilt-plus-10 floor structure was Rs74.79 crore, the revised estimate approved by the state government for an eight-storey building is Rs172.13 crore, he said. A government resolution in this connection was issued last week, he added. “While Rs84.35 crore will be spent to construct the building, Rs18.22 crore will be spent on furniture. The building will have a rainwater harvesting facility, ramps for persons with disabilities and hydraulic stilt parking,” he said. This comes a day after Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said his government would spend Rs593 crore to develop Shri Kshetra Poharadevi in Washim district. Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis during the day unveiled a statue of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and inaugurated a 134-foot high flag there.
