Anil Jaisinghani arrested by Mum police in Gujarat

First India Bureau Mumbai: Mumbai cops on Monday nabbed suspected bookie Anil Jaisinghani from Godhra in Gujarat, days after his daughter Aniksha was arrested for allegedly trying to blackmail and bribe the wife of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

A crime branch official confirmed that Anil Jaisinghani, who has 14 to 15 cases pending against him, was nabbed from Gujarat, but refused to divulge details.

The commission is expected to coordinate with various govt agencies to stop non-productive cattle from going to slaughterhouses, which is now illegal under the Maha Animal Preservation (Amendment) Animal Act, 1995, passed in March 2015.

The state govern- ment has estimated that the population of livestock will go up owing to the beef ban, he said.

The commission is being formed on the lines of bodies set up in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

a criminal case and also threatening her. She is in police custody till March 21.

The accused tried to extort Rs10 crore from Amruta Fadnavis by “threatening to circulate morphed videos”.
