Sena - UBT chief visited CM’s stronghold of Thane for Dighe’s birth anniversary

Thane: Shiv Sena – Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday inaugurated a medical camp in Thane city on the eve of the birth anniversary of late Anand Dighe. He was a hugely popular politician who is considered the mentor of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Thackeray’s visit as well as the mega medical camp organized to commemorate Dighe’s birth anniversary, which falls on Friday, are being seen as an attempt to rebuild the Shiv Sena - UBT in Thane.

He also paid floral tribute to Dighe at Anand Math, the de facto centre of the Sena movement in Thane for decades now.

Speaking on the occasion, Thackeray said Shiv Sena and Maharashtra have been defamed due to the “betrayal and defections” that took place, a reference to Shinde and 39 MLAs bringing down the Maha Vikas Aghadi

(MVA) government.

Palghar: Three persons have been arrested by the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar police in two separate cases of house break-ins. MUMBAI BJP CHIEF GETS DEATH THREAT; COPS BEGIN PROBE

Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mumbai unit chief Ashish Shelar on Friday got a death threat through a letter that was received at his office in suburban Bandra. The letter, written in indecent, intemperate language, was posted by an unidentified person. It asked the BJP MLA to keep quiet and not talk much or else he and his kin would have to bear the consequences. Police have filed a case.
