Man throws self in front of train over debt harassment
First India Bureau Thane: A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a suburban train in Thane district, a police official said on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday night between Ambernath and Badlapur stations on Central Railway’s main line, the official added
“The man was identified as Girish Nandlal Chube. A note found from the spot has named some people due to which he had to take this extreme step,” Mukesh Dhage, Senior Inspector, Kaly- an Railway police station said.

Sources said the deceased has also made a clip in which he narrated that he lost his job after two colleagues complained to the firm’s owner. He said he had to take Rs1 lakh from some people as he was out of a job and these lenders were harassing him, these sources said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, five persons were arrested in Thane for allegedly assaulting on-duty staff at a railway crossing and stalling the passage of a goods train for more than four hours, a police official said on Friday.
The incident took place at 1 am on Thursday between Juchandra and Chandrapada when the level crossing was shut to allow a goods train to pass, the Dombivali railway police station official said.
“Railway staff were also engaged in maintenance work on the stretch at the time,” he said.

President of the Thane District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, VC Premchandani, and its member Poonam V Maharshi ordered Paranjape Construction Company and its partner Jayant Moreshwar Paranjape, to jointly make the payment within 30 days of the order that was passed on January 13. Appearing on behalf of the complainants, advocate Ashwini Sarjine told the forum that in 1986 the complainants had each paid Rs95,000 as the booking amount for their respective flats, each measuring 410 sq. ft. The opponents failed to appear for the proceedings and did not file their defence. Hence, the contentions made by the complainants against opponents are proved against them, it said.
The forum asked the opponents to pay Rs30,000 to each complainant towards their litigation charges. They were also directed to execute the sale deed.
