Dear Members and Friends,
As we enter the final quarter of 2023, the Session, Ministry Leaders, and staff are busy putting together the 2024 annual budget. The Session has made a unanimous, internal commitment to present a budget at our annual meeting (2/2024) which will not include contributions from our operating reserve fund. In other words, we are going to have a budget where expenditures equal our actual revenue without dipping into savings. To that end, the Session is putting a more focused emphasis on a pledge campaign for our annual fund 2024.
Who Should Make a Pledge?
Pledges are open to everyone in our community, and we encourage all members and friends to participate. Whether you're a long-standing member, a friend of FPC, a newcomer, or someone exploring their faith, making a pledge is a way to actively support the mission and ministries of our congregation. Your commitment, regardless of the amount, supports our shared purpose to humbly follow Jesus Christ.
What is a Pledge?
A pledge is a voluntary commitment to contribute financially to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta for a specified period, typically a year. It's a promise to give a specific amount of money to support the annual fund of the church.
When Should Pledges Be Made?
Pledges can be made beginning October 8 through November 19.
Where Should I Submit My Pledge?
You can submit your pledge conveniently through various channels. During the pledge campaign, we provide pledge cards that you can complete and drop off at the church office, place in the offering plate during Sunday services, or submit electronically through this secure portal Additionally, you can contact our church office for assistance in submitting your pledge or to discuss alternative methods of contribution with Assistant Controller, Darryl Payne, at dpayne@firstpresatl.org or 404-228-7706.
Why Should I Pledge?
Pledging is an essential part of being an active member of our church community, and it serves several important purposes:
Spiritual Commitment
Pledging reflects your commitment to humbly follow Jesus Christ by supporting the ministry and mission of Christ’s church.
Budget Planning
Your pledge helps us plan our annual budget with confidence, enabling us to allocate resources effectively
Community Building
Pledging fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose among our congregation, as we work together
2024 budget year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31). Thank you, in advance, for your pledge and financial commitment to FPC Atlanta. I am excited for what God is doing and will do through your generosity and
