Infrastructure Aqueduct Rehabilitation Project Summary • Project involved the installation of new 3metre diameter water pipes in rural locations up to 80 metres below ground. • T he pipes were installed via a tunnel boring machine which required substantial working compound areas and new vehicle access points for haul roads. Benefits • Fisher German secured Environmental Impact Assessment screening clearance on all sites; • Full planning permission secured for new vehicle access points, well house and legacy works.

Anaerobic Digester Project Summary • Submission of a planning application to construct an anaerobic digester unit. • Complex site located within a SSSI and close to a village. • Close working relationship with the Council’s Environmental Health, Biodiversity and Planning Officers established.

Eel Screens Project Summary • S tocks of the European Eel have declined by 95% over the last 30 years and they are now considered endangered. • The project involved the installation of substantial new eel screens at water intakes which protrude into the watercourse. • Planning permission secured for the installation of new eel screen and associated works at three sites.

Benefits • By preparing a comprehensive application with supporting documents covering heritage, landscape and wider ecological impact and liaising closely with the Local Planning Authority, Fisher German secured planning permission with no conditions to be discharged.


Strategic Residential Release of land from Green Belt and allocation of 335 dwellings Project Summary • Promotion of two sites through emerging Local Plan. • E xtensive evidence prepared and submitted to support arguments for the release of both sites from the Green Belt. • A ppeared at Examination in Public in support the allocation of the sites and to rebut competitors submissions on the sites. Benefits • Release of the sites from the Green Belt and allocation of the sites for a combined total of 335 dwellings. • Have since led the preparation and submission of outline planning applications for both sites.

Promotion of 4,000 dwelling site through Local Plan Project Summary • Promotion of 4,000 dwelling scheme through emerging Local Plan. • Engaged late in the Plan preparation and as such, worked to agree a Statement of Common Ground with the Local Planning Authority, prior to the Examination of the Local Plan, to confirm the Councils intention to allocate the site in the Local Plan. • Managed all supporting consultants to ensure full evidence base for the site. • Preparation of viability assessment to support delivery of site. Benefits • S ecured Inspectors recommendation to allocate the 184 hectare site for 4,000 dwellings. • Plan since adopted with the allocation of the site for residential development. • Client now able to work with delivery partners to bring the site forward for development.

Application for 275 dwellings Leicestershire Project Summary • Progressed an outline planning application for 275 new homes on a site outside of the town’s Settlement Boundary. • Successfully argued that the site would contribute to Council’s five year housing land supply. • Active engagement with local residents, the District and County Council enabled the team to secure a recommendation for approval from Officers with Councillors voting to approve the development of the 14.7 hectare site. • Negotiation of the S106 agreement. Benefits • Planning permission secured at a local level for promoter client. • Achieved support from local residents following extensive public consultation and responding to concerns raised.

Commercial Designer Outlet Centre Project Summary • Advised clients in relation to proposals for a designer retail outlet centre in Grantham. • Prepared Planning Statement and Environmental Statement. • Undertook the project management and co-ordinated an extensive pubic consultation exercise for the proposals. Benefits • Developed strong relationships with the local planning authority to secure resolution to grant. • Delivery of a new retail offering for the client in a competitive market.


Commercial Change of use of Offices for Health Care Facility Project Summary • Instructed by a national eye clinic who significantly reduce NHS referral to treat times whilst still providing the highest quality service. • Planning support was provided for the client to secure changes of use in urban areas. This enabled the delivery of significant community benefits across the region. Benefits • Working proactively with Councils nationwide, preparing comprehensive planning applications overcoming complex planning issues delivering a scheme which will deliver treatment that significantly improves people’s quality of life. Each clinic treats up to 300 patients per week.

Rural 45,000 tonne Grain Store

Class Q Development as the ‘fall back’ position Project Summary • Secured Class Q consent for three residential units on a traditional red brick barn which was a site located outside a defined settlement boundary within open countryside. • Once the principle of residential development was established, Fisher German submitted a Full Planning Application to revise access arrangements and enlarge the curtilage size of all three residential units. • Class Q consent was subsequently secured for a further three residential units on three large steel portal framed agricultural buildings. Benefits • A carefully considered planning strategy enabled the client to maximise the development potential of the site.

Project Summary • The scheme comprised the rebuilding and reorganisation of a 9.5 hectare site to provide a centralised 45,000 tonne grain storage and dispatch facility. • The site comprised five dwellings and a country store, so the proposal included clear traffic segregation to significantly improve health and safety. • A subsequent solar park application was approved to provide a sustainable power source for the development. Benefits • The development provided much needed improvements to both the operation of the site and the improved physical quality of the facility. • New HGV parking on site now ensures vehicles do not become stacked on the highway, removing a significant safety hazard and local nuisance.

Farm tracks to enable music festival to progress Project Summary • Out of the box thinking was required to obtain consent for permanent internal tracks on the farm, which could also serve the annual music festival. • Five new access points and a large area of hardstanding were also approved as part of the same application. • In addition to the new accesses and tracks, a cattle shed and farmyard extension were sought to enable the expansion of the organic dairy farm which occupied the festival site for the remainder of the year. Benefits • The Festival proceeded on time with the full support of the Planners at the National Park Authority. • The site is now able to continue year on year with permanent established facilities.
