THE YEAR IN REVIEW Mayor Fadness reflects on the City’s many achievements throughout the past year, and looks ahead to 2018.

There’s been no shortage of momentum in 2017. Our community has celebrated the designation as the #1 place to live in the United States by Money Magazine, celebrated exciting job growth, seen market progress on the Fishers Mental Health Initiative, and welcomed thousands of new visitors during grand openings in the fall. While these accomplishments are exciting in and of themselves, one of the biggest priorities for me is creating a community where there are opportunities for friends, families, and neighbors to unite, establish new traditions, and experience all that Fishers has to offer. As 2017 comes to an end, there’s no greater time to reflect on some of the successes our team has had, including those that might not have made headlines. As Fishers transitioned from a town to a city in 2015, we set out to create a guiding vision for the City of Fishers that would ultimately help us make decisions today that would lead to a thoughtfullydesigned, sustainable community in the future. Fishers2040 helped to organize that vision by creating a community conversation around a smart, vibrant, and entrepreneurial Fishers. That vision has driven much of the progress we’ve seen over the past three years in Fishers.
