IOT CIVIC HACK Governor Holcomb joined Mayor Fadness, major tech leaders, and over 400 attendees with 22 teams represented at this year’s AT&T IoT Civic Hack at Launch Fishers. Tackling challenges around agriculture, manufacturing, and transportation and logistics, teams worked overnight to develop new IoT (internet of things) solutions to real-world problems. Smart Tool Crib won the Overall Best IoT Hack and several other categories saw innovation-driven solutions created in less than 48-hours. COMPANIES GROWING IN FISHERS In April, both Stratosphere Quality and CEDIA announced growth plans for Fishers. Stratospere Quality plans to create up to 250 new jobs by 2020 and will invest $3.7 million to update its 46,000-square-foot headquarters at 12024 Exit Five Parkway in Fishers. The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) is planning to move its headquarters from Indianapolis to Fishers. CEDIA has proposed a new headquarters near the southeast intersection of 106th Street and Kincaid Drive, along the Interstate 69 corridor.
FISHERS OPEN HOUSE & TOUCH-A-TRUCK The popular annual touch-a-truck event is expanding this year! Fishers residents are welcome to the Nickel Plate Amphitheater to get up close and personal with Public Works, Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Parks and Rec, and other departments.
