London Plastercraft has been an essential part of London’s architectural scene for over thirty years, and in this time has proven to be an invaluable asset to those who are involved in designing pieces that need an extra flourish. We profile the firm to discover more about what the team has to offer following the team’s tremendous success in this year’s Architectural Awards.

London Plastercraft Ltd are experts in their field. The team boasts over 200 Victorian cornice patterns, more than 100 Edwardian cornice patterns and over 100 Georgian cornice patterns. When their impressive collection of modern and period designs is factored in, the team hosts probably the largest stock of stock cornice patterns anywhere in the world. Their massive range of stock moulds is only one aspect of the business. The team are constantly innovating to create new and exciting designs from their Wimbledon workshop. Some projects require a period touch that can only be met with older designs, but others need new and bespoke patterns. The talented craftsmen and women at London Plastercraft have proven themselves capable of delivering exceptional results, working from photos, simple sketches, artist’s drawings and CAD renders to create a beautiful finished product. The team’s long experience means that there is an experience group of specialist lime plaster and stucco craftsmen with vast experience in run-in situ moulded work, lath and plaster, exterior mouldings and render. London Plastercraft have played a crucial role in newbuilds and restoration work to the interiors and exteriors of various buildings including castles, churches, hotels and domestic dwellings. Every project brings its own set of unique challenges, and the London Plastercraft team have worked tirelessly to ensure that they can carry out any type of specialist moulded work and that we can match in any pattern no matter how simple or intricate. All sorts of materials can be used in this sort of work, including plaster of Paris, G.R.G., G.R.P., G.R.C. and Jesmonite. This in-depth knowledge has been key to many of the firm’s success, allowing the team to carry out incredibly challenging heritage restoration and conservation work. Often London Plastercraft is invited to analyse these examples and identify historic mortars and materials. This allows the team to undertake some superb reproduction work on a like-for-like basis.
