THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
4 - Use as many table lamps – ideally in pairs, as possible in a room. An average sized living room should ideally have 4 lamps, but we have used as many as ten in a large space. It creates the opportunity to zone areas at night, and are especially useful for reading. The softness of the lamp is far more ambient for a relaxing evening than overhead or wall lights which can strain tired eyes
5 - Embrace natural daylight wherever possible. Arrange your space to gain the most from the available natural light. A dining table in the brightest part of the room will encourage you to sit there during the day time as opposed to at a breakfast bar, likewise with a comfortable chair and small table next to it, for a sunshine filled pause in the day with a cuppa and a view of the garden
6 - Use as much of the height of the room as possible. Try to keep everything from finishing at the height of the sofas and table lamps. Encouraging the eye upwards with the use of tall mirrors behind sofa’s and a feature chandelier on the ceiling will make the space feel much grander and properly dressed rebeccaclarkinteriors.com
