RONNIE SCOTT’S JAZZ CLUB LONDON’S ICONIC LIVE MUSIC VENUE ANNOUNCE UPCOMING SHOWS
Ronnie Scott’s – London’s iconic live music venue est. 1959 – is excited to announce its upcoming listings for May.
This month there are a number of extra special shows at Ronnie Scott’s, welcoming American music legends Herb Alpert and Lani Hall for an eclectic set covering some of the classics to improvisational jazz tunes. The four-time Grammy Award winner Stanley Clarke will take to the stage with his new band, 4EVER, continuing their already incredibly successful international tour. Expect an electrifying performance, as they push the boundaries of their instruments.
Ronnie Scott’s also has the pleasure of welcoming back Canadian saxophonist Ben Wendel and Swedish drummer Magnus Ostrom, and Dutch saxophonist Tineke Postma will be there to make her debut as band leader.
Saxophonists Tom Scott and Wayne Escoffery, drummer/multi-instrumentalist Kahil El’Zabar, New York based guitarist Oz Noy and drumming legend Billy Cobham will also take to the stage. For a chance to listen to larger bands, international group Black Lives, sextet Canadian Jazz Collective, Redtenbacher’s Funkestra, Nikiles Orchestra and their own Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra will be performing. Their prolific UK scene remains well represented with vocalists Sarah Brown, Natalie Williams and Tony Momrelle, pianist Joe Webb, Giacomo Smith and guitarist Mozes Rosenburg, pianist Janette Mason, guitarists Pete Oxley and Nicolas Meier, Matt Schofield, and their fantastic house bands Blues Explosion, W3 and Soul Family. Rounding off this jam-packed month will be Michael & Michelle. Well known for their roles in Downton Abbey, the pair who quickly bonded over their shared passion are taking the stage after the release of their first EP The Watching Silence last year.
