THE POWER OF PROTEIN Protein provides the body the building blocks for all structural cells, so if your goal is to gain muscle, increase strength or even reduce body fat, whilst maintaining lean definition; meeting your individual protein needs is essential. During exercise muscle tissue is broken down, to adapt to the training the body repairs this muscle tissue with dietary protein, therefore as exercise and activity level increase so does the need for protein. Simply including protein as kingsize portions with your evening meal is not the answer. In fact recent research has shown that consuming between 20-40g of protein at each meal or snack regularly throughout the day is the optimal way of stimulating muscle protein synthesis and therefore recovery and physical adaptation. (Tipton et al, 2009)
Great tasting high protein bar Promax Meal bars are a great tasting high protein snack option to provide a healthier alternative to the sugar and fat laden confectionary lurking when hunger sets in between meals. Each bar provides 21g of protein in a delicious and convenient format; perfect for putting in your gym bag for after your workout or as a snack during the day. With many flavours available from Cookie Dough to Blueberry Smoothie - this high protein snack tastes and look like a treat but serves to support you in achieving your muscle development goals by helping you to meet your daily protein requirements.
Active individuals who are looking to maintain and develop muscle should consume between 1-2g of protein, dependent on training and goal for example an active 80kg man needs 80 - 160g (Kreider et al., 2010). Since convenient high protein snacks are sometimes hard to find, Promax Meal bars can help individuals meet these guidelines.
HIGH FIBRE Fibre exists in two forms; soluble and insoluble and is present within our diet from fruit, vegetables, pulses and whole grains cereals. Both types aid healthy digestion by absorbing water and expanding or forming a gel, to remove waste and harmful materials from the digestive tract. Fibre within the diet may also play a role in weight management, through its effect on satiety and appetite control (Wanders et al, 2011). Each Promax Meal bar contains almost 6g of fibre, which is nearly quarter of the daily recommendation encouraged within a healthy balanced diet.
