The Britton District Building Survey 2019 Fall Semester Conducted by Students in Historic Preservation Planning En D 4893 (SERV), RCPL 5893, ARCH 5970 (SERV) Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture The University of Oklahoma NOTE: The class collaborated with the staff of the City of Oklahoma City Planning Department. Selected buildings in this district were based on those deemed to be “contributing buildings” in the “Survey Report, Intensive-Level Survey of Historic Britton Commercial District 2019.” The work in this course is meant to complement the previous survey work using Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps references, historic photographs, and current photographs, if available. Historic information was very hard to find for this area. We concentrated on the Route 66 years of the area when there was significant development, prosperity, and business. These years are from March 3, 1936, to March 2, 1953.
