KEY FEATURES The FIU Healthcare MBA is an accelerated 18-month, Saturday-only program that enables you to earn your degree without interrupting your current career. Intended for working professionals with a minimum of four years of professional work experience, the Healthcare MBA requires 42 credit hours of coursework, along with a three-day professional development seminar and refresher courses in accounting and other quantitative skills.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To be considered for admission to the MBA in Healthcare Management program, you must: • • • • •

Have four years of professional work experience. Meet the general university requirements for admission to a graduate degree program. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better based on upper-division coursework. Submit official transcripts from all previously-attended universities in a sealed envelope by the degree-granted institution(s).

Although the GMAT or GRE is not required for admission to this program, you may be asked to take it to strengthen your admission package. International students may have additional requirements. Please contact us for more information. *Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the Healthcare MBA program.

Management of Healthcare Organizations in the 21st Century: explores the use of evidencebased management for effective planning and decision-making by today’s healthcare managers.

Financing & Reimbursement of Health Systems: examines financing models for health delivery systems, and analyzes Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payer reimbursement strategies.

Economic and Decision Analysis in Health Services: analyzes specific world-wide health care problems and functioning of global health care markets.

Health Policy and Economics: examines the impact of government, private sector, and interest groups on priority setting in global health policy making and national health strategies using basic economics principles.

Master’s Project in Management: each student conducts a research project on a specific healthcare management problem in a community or institutional setting.
