In just nine years, FIU Football has captured national attention, winning the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Championship and then winning its first bowl game in the Panthers’ first national television appearance on ESPN.
FIU’s Model United Nations team bested more than 183 delegations from around the world at the April 2011 National Model United Nations in New York City. The FIU students left the competition with the Outstanding Delegation award as well as top honors - Outstanding Delegate in Committees awards – for each of its members. More than 5,000 university students from five continents participated in the competition.
FIU, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and JPMorgan Chase have come together to make a major investment of resources and support to help improve student learning and graduation rates at Miami Northwestern Senior High School. The project, “The Education Effect,” is made possible by a $1 million grant from JPMorgan Chase.
