Rules of Play GUEST RULES:
Guests are expected to adhere to all of the same rules that members observe.
Guests are expected to be family, friends or associates.
Each member is able to entertain up to seven (7) guests on a given day. If the member has multiple tee times, it is expected for the member to play in the last group.
A guest is limited to use of the Club facilities six (6) times per year (January 1st through December 31st).
Members hosting guests must accompany their guests at all times while on property until their departure.
When helping host another member’s guests, you assume the same responsibilities as if guests were your own.
Guest fees may be billed directly to the member’s account (preferred) or they may pay with credit card or cash.
PACE OF PLAY: Please do your part to protect the overall experience by monitoring the pace of play in your own group, especially when you are hosting guests. Pace of play is defined by both time — we request you play in 4 hours and 15 minutes — and with respect for those on the course behind you (by keeping up with the group in front of you). The key to having a great experience is to have a good pace of play on the course. Any slow play is unacceptable at any time. Thank you for helping us in this matter.
7
Rules of Play TEE TIME POLICY: Members are able to reserve tee times up to ten (10) days out through ForeTees or by calling the Golf Shop. Each member is allowed to book up to three tee times in a row.
HANDICAPS: Members are expected to post their scores after every round. Members are able to post through the ForeTees and GHIN app on their cell phones. Remember to post 9-hole and 18-hole scores! Handicaps shall be computed under the supervision of the Golf Professionals in accordance with the current World Handicap System. Any violations could result in handicap adjustments for tournament play. Handicaps are updated daily at midnight (no posting while playing The National during the off-season between January 1st-March 1st). CARTS: Please adhere to the posted cart ruling of the day displayed on the current day’s hole location sheet as well as on the first tee. Golf carts must remain in the cart part for all par threes. PRACTICE FACILITY: The Practice Facility at The National Golf Club is intended for members to practice during the posted hours of operation and for their guests to warm up prior to playing a round of golf. Practice balls are for use on the Practice Facility only and are not to be taken to the golf course. Proper dr ess an d golf etiqu ette ar e expected at the Practice Facility. The back of the Practice Facility (south side) is set up as an auxiliary hitting area. Please try to use the stations on the north side as your primary practice area.

Rules of Play TIPPING: The National Golf Club allows members and guests to tip associates while on property. All members also have the opportunity to participate in an annual associate holiday pool at the end of the year in lieu of daily cash tipping. These funds are then dispersed to all team members at the conclusion of the season. CELLULAR PHONES: Cell phones are allowed on property but we ask that you handle your phone business with respect to others. MUSIC: Music is allowed on the golf course while playing golf. Please respect your fellow golfers by keeping music at a volume that only you can hear. CARE OF THE COURSE: Members shall observe proper golf etiquette in regards to replacing/ repairing divots, fixing ball marks and raking bunkers. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests. All breaches should be reported to the Golf Shop. ATTIRE: Proper attire and footwear is required on the golf course and Practice Facility at all times, i.e. no denim, T-shirts, etc. Proper golf attire is recommended in the Clubhouse, although jeans are allowed. Please do not wear workout or swim attire in the Clubhouse. We ask all gentlemen to remove their caps while in The Mixed Grill and Main Dining Room. THE MIXED GRILL: Members are asked to accompany family and guests in The Mixed Grill at all times. Operational hours for The Mixed Grill varies, based on the time of the year and day of the week.
9
Rules of Play RULES OF GOLF: USGA rules govern all play except when modified by our local rules. PLAYING IT SAFE DURING THUNDERSTORMS: Please be aware that The National Golf Club does not have a lightning detection system. Playing during a thunderstorm is not advised and is at your own risk. GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE: All players using the golf facilities should do their part to make a round at The National Golf Club a pleasant experience for everyone:
Anticipate the club or clubs you may need and go directly to your ball. Always be near your ball to play promptly when it is your turn. If a player is delayed in making a shot, it would be courteous for such player to indicate to another player to play.
Players should ensure that greens are not damaged by putting down bags or the flagsticks and that the hole is not damaged by standing close to it or by removing the flagstick or the ball from the hole.
When approaching a green, park your golf cart at least 30 feet from the green or on the cart path on the best direct line to the next tee.
Repair your ball marks on the greens. If you see unrepaired ball marks, repair them also. Remind your playing partners to observe this courtesy.
Enter and exit bunkers at the lowest point at all times. Carefully rake bunkers after use and place head of the rake in the bunker with the handle outside of the bunker.
