Dear Members, To say that the past several weeks have been challenging doesn’t come close to describing the level of stress, worry and uncertainty we are all facing. Although I have no words of assurance to relieve your concerns, I personally find great solace in the knowledge that we humans are a resilient bunch. We persevere … we rally … we get creative … we get through. That’s exactly what we are doing here at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd. Thanks to a supportive ownership group and a passionate executive team, we have forged ahead with ideas, plans and services to help our members, neighbors and staff. Some of these new initiatives include …
extended to-go service available 7 days a week, 8a to 7p expanded to-go menu with new breakfast options weekly carry-out specials to add variety to our full menu grocery service to provide you with the supplies you need temporary suspension of golf on the Sechrest Nine to allow residents and members the opportunity to use this space for recreational purposes free virtual fitness classes for all members and residents Details on these programs may be found in this issue. Until we can re-open our doors to welcome you back in the Clubhouse, we will continue to monitor updates on the CDC.gov website and do what we can to help. If you have ideas you’d like to share or if I may be of assistance to you, please let me know. Stay safe and stay well!

Dear Members, In alignment with local ordinances and in order to keep the golf course open for member use during this unprecedented time, we strongly remind everyone of the following rules. For the safety and health of our members and staff, it is imperative that these rules be taken very seriously by each and every member. These rules will be strictly enforced. There can be no exceptions. No Club carts available; Club-approved personal carts allowed only. Walking golfers and personal push carts are permitted. However, no

other recreational use of the Tom Watson Signature Course or cart paths will be permitted (including, but not limited to bicycles, scooters, hiking, jogging, running or dog walking). A zero tolerance policy will be in effect for any violation of these rules.

One person per cart. If you live under the same roof, you may ride
together in the same cart.
Members only; NO GUESTS. Scorecards, pencils and hole location sheets will be available outside the
Golf Shop in individual envelopes. Members MUST book tee times on ForeTees or call the Golf Shop to
make your tee time. No unscheduled play is permitted. GOLF SHOP A Golf Professional will be present 9a to 5p Tuesday -Sunday by calling 816.322.2117. FIRST TEE TIMES Tee times will begin one hour after the Golf Shop opens, weather permitting COURSE CLOSED FOR AERIFICATION The golf course is closed for aerification on Monday and Tuesday, April 6th and 7th, weather permitting.
Golfers are asked not to touch the flagsticks. An insert has been placed
at the bottom of the flagstick to make it easier to retrieve the ball. The flagsticks are disinfected by the GCM team two to three times daily. Please do not congregate around the Clubhouse or on the patios after
your round is over. As you can understand, while we seek to minimize contact with one another, our ability to monitor and reinforce the rules has become increasingly more difficult. We simply ask that you help us uphold the standards of The Country Club at Loch Lloyd. Club and on-course rules including dress code, cart path regulations and golf course etiquette such as respectful pace of play still apply and will be enforced. Further safety measures that have been taken include the removal of putting green flagsticks, on-course coolers and bunker rakes. The Practice Facility is closed at this time. Although the Golf Shop is closed, a Golf Professional will be present from 9 a to 5 p Tuesday through Sunday and available by calling 816.322.2117. We understand these rules may not be very popular but are necessary and extremely important in helping to halt the spread of the coronavirus. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Sean
In an ongoing effort to make the best use of our community living space in light of the “stay-at-home” ordinance, The Country Club at Loch Lloyd has temporarily closed the Sechrest Nine Golf Course. This network of Sechrest golf corridors and cart paths is now designated as a recreational walking, hiking, biking and exercise space for all residents and members.
The Sechrest Nine is now closed to all golf activity and open to residents for use as an outdoor recreational space. Sechrest members now have access to the Tom Watson Signature Golf Course. Tee times must be made on ForeTees or by calling the Golf Shop at 816.322.2117. No unscheduled play is permitted.
Listed to the right are the measures taken to put this change into action, effective immediately, and until further notice. We would like to thank the entire community for coming together, supporting one another, being under- The Sechrest Nine will continue to be mowed and standing to the changing times, and ... most importantly ... for being mindful maintained by our Golf Course Maintenance team; however, flagsticks and tee markers have and respectful to the rules that have been set forth. Dear Member, The unprecedented COVID-19 virus pandemic has continued to evolve exponentially. Within the Golf Course Maintenance team at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd, we are taking every precautionary step to keep members and associates safe as we continue to work to ensure our Golf Course and grounds remain in the very best possible conditions. The GCM team has implemented the following daily measures for the safety of our members:
Disinfecting all hard surfaces daily. Course flagsticks remain, but a piece of foam has been added JEFF STEEN, CGCS DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE jeffs@lochlloyd.com
to keep the ball from dropping to the bottom of the cup (see photo on the right). This provides an easy way to retrieve your ball without touching the flagstick.
Bunker rakes have been removed from the course. We ask golfers not to be concerned about raking bunkers as our GCM team will take care of that for the foreseeable future.
All putting green flagsticks have been removed. With regard to the ongoing safety of our associates, we have put into effect the following procedures:
Two separate shifts are scheduled, limiting the social interaction. Disinfecting all hard surfaces at the maintenance facility daily. Limiting the number of associates per piece of equipment and working as individuals or in small groups, where applicable.
Providing ongoing communications to all associates throughout the day to promote FACT vs FEAR.
Daily sign-in and tracking of associates which requires a signature to confirm they have not traveled to an area with known local spread of COVID-19; they have not come within six feet of someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis in the past 14 days; and they do not have a fever or symptoms of lower respiratory illness. If an associate responds yes to any of these questions, the company has a detailed and thorough plan to take immediate action to ensure the safety of all other associates and members. We are living in the midst of uncertainty but are optimistic that we will get through this and be stronger on the other side. We often learn and grow the most through challenging times. Please take care of yourself and your families and remain safe. If I may be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. I noticed that many ladies signed up for golf during the first two weeks in March. Remarkably, we had unusually warm temperatures luring us back to the golf course. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus has put a constraint on our excitement, our desire to play golf and the ability to become reacquainted with friends we have missed seeing all winter. To assist in keeping a positive outlook, please make note of the following:

WHY working out now, during the Coronavirus Pandemic, is so essential for every member of your family: Exercise will keep you healthy physically but improves your sleep, boosts your mental health and enhances your sense of well being. Whether you participate in one of the Club’s Virtual Fitness Classes, take a walk around the neighborhood or take advantage of the newly repurposed Sechrest Nine to get those steps in … the main point is to keep moving! The Food & Beverage team at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd is working diligently to provide you and your family with the services you need. We’ve extended our to-go service to 7 days a week (to include Mondays) and have added new breakfast options that are available as early as 8a. We would like to thank everyone who has been using our to-go services! In addition, our professional culinary staff has added weekly to-go specials to provide you with more variety. As a result of the “stay-at-home” ordinance, we recently rolled out a “Groceries & More” service so that you may order the food supplies you need and can safely pick them up curbside at the Clubhouse. Safety measures have been put into place within the Clubhouse to keep associates as safe as possible. We have limited the number of staff members scheduled at one time and have, instead, staggered their schedules to adhere to social distancing recommendations by the CDC and local authorities. We have increased the duration and frequency of disinfecting work areas and are taking great care in preparing and packaging all of your food orders. With Easter right around the corner, our talented and hard-working culinary team, led by Executive Chef Damian Lehman and Sous Chef Bradley Brown, have created a special “Easter Dinner To-Go” menu which you’ll find on the next page. Although we’d love nothing more than to have the Fireside Grill filled with members for Easter Brunch … this is the next best thing we can offer. We hope you’ll take advantage of the great menu and place your order soon. Stay well and please contact me if I may be of any assistance to you. Our curbside carry-out meals are being well received and now, with the city-wide "stay-at-home" ordinance in effect, we are proud to offer grocery services as well. Our grocery list contains nearly 70 items ranging from chicken to beef … cereal to milk … cheese to potatoes … and even toilet paper! Some of the items are bulk packaged so please don’t be alarmed at quantities. We are also offering liquor, beer and wine options. These alcoholic items may only be ordered and pick-up up curbside by an adult (age 21+). The ordering process is as easy as placing a carry-out dining order. We will be taking grocery orders twice each week for the foreseeable future. Orders placed by noon on Mondays will be available for pick-up between 3p to 7p on Tuesdays. Orders placed by noon on Thursdays will be available for pick-up between 3p to 7p on Fridays. If you need the grocery list emailed to you, please call the Clubhouse at 816.322.1022. Then, just give us a call at the same number when you’re ready to place your order. We are taking the “stay-at-home” ordinance very seriously. The safety and health of our members and neighbors cannot be undervalued. Please help us keep you safe by staying home and ordering the food supplies you need through us.

Dan Elder of Loch Lloyd, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 27, 1939 in Decatur, Texas. Dan graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth, Texas and Texas Tech University as a proud member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation, Dan began his 45-year career as a boot salesman with Justin Brands. Traveling all over Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, he made many friends. Always with a story, Dan rarely met a stranger. He was a proud Texan who loved his family, golf, hunting, Jack Daniels and margaritas, and any game he could win. Dan and his wife, Van, have been longtime residents of the Kansas City area. Moving here in 1965, they began raising their family and making lifelong friendships. They spent many years enjoying the wonderful communities of Lake Winnebago and Loch Lloyd, as well as belonging to The Country Club at Loch Lloyd, Hillcrest Country Club and Flint Hills in Wichita, Kansas. Sharing a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Dan and Van never missed an opening day of dove season for over 60 years. Another one of their favorite activities was working at the farm in northern Missouri, and the many pheasant and deer camps held in the barn. Dan and his son, Brent, spent many days tending to and enjoying the land. After enjoying several golf tournaments in the Palm Springs area, Dan and Van fell in love with the beautiful area and warm sunshine. They spent many winters in Bermuda Dunes, California, where golf and friends were abundant. Their kids and grandkids always looked forward to joining them for vacation. Dan will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Van, and two children: Brent and Lindsay Elder, Dana and Card Sappington; grandchildren: Ryan (Jennifer), Andrea (Sean), Lauren and Clayton; and great-grandchildren: Emma and Jackson. Known to many as Dad, Grandpa, Papa, and “Dan, Dan the Margarita Man,” his family and friends will miss him dearly. No services will be held, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Please enjoy a drink in remembrance of Dan’s life well-lived and/or make a memorial contribution in his name to any of the following: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, Shriner’s, Parkinson’s Foundation or one of your choosing.
