GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT Grant Suderman

Dear Members,

As the beauty of fall transitions to the bitterness of winter, the golf course maintenance team also transitions from daily golf prep to course enhancement projects. Below is an update of what to expect in December. FAIRWAY DRAINAGE The Loch Lloyd golf maintenance team will continue installing drainage to zoysiagrass fairways. This continues our commitment to installing drainage in all fairways to eliminate turf decline. We will be working forward on the remaining holes #4,6,7,8,10,12,14,15,16 until the project is complete. The hole or area being worked on will be closed for work safety reasons until complete. TREE WORK Tree work will again be a focus this winter. Any dead or unsafe trees will be removed from the property. We will also be focusing on pruning trees of high importance throughout the property.

FAIRWAY DRAINAGE BEING INSTALLED ON HOLE #4

DOUBLE CUP SYSTEM Starting in December, the team will be implementing the “Double Cup System” for use during the winter months. The “Double Cup System” is used during winter periods to spread out foot traffic when new cups can’t consistently be cut due to frozen conditions. We ask that golfers rotate the flags to the opposite hole upon the completion of each hole. This rotation is necessary to spread out foot traffic during these winter periods. WATER COOLERS The golf course maintenance team will be picking up all golf course structures including water cooler stations and sand caddy’s in December. Thank you for your support as we remain committed to providing Loch Lloyd Country Club with the best golfing conditions in Kansas City.

Operations Director Kim Palmer My faith in members reading the newsletter has been RENEWED! Not only did Mrs. Joyce Abrams find her hidden member number in the newsletter, leading to a pretty great prize, another member (who we shall not name) also “found” her number in the newsletter. This members ingenuity also garnered a terrific prize and has led the team to developing a few rules as it relates to redemption. From here forward: Page numbers will not count Dates will not count Numbers that are inadvertently used in, let’s say, BINGO flyers will not count Phone numbers will not count And just to be safe, we will be adding an* to the end of the member number which will be the signifier that it is the true winner! I say all of this with a spirit of gratitude in my heart and absolutely LOVED that members became engaged in the process. We will keep this fun going and who knows… you may be the next winner! Continue to comb the newsletter and if you find your member number, now with a * after the number, please contact your Club Concierge, Ciara. She will get you lined up for that months prize. Who saw the new menu covers? Pretty slick! These have been handmade specifically for Loch Lloyd and while I know the process took a bit of time, we are all very pleased with the end result. Inside that beautiful cover includes our new fall/winter menu which has been getting positive reviews. As expected, lots of praise for the comeback of tots, the addition of a delectable shrimp and scallop linguini, a deliciously designed cocktail menu and if you haven’t tried the bread pudding – you are missing OUT. I would like to compliment our Food & Beverage team on the incredible amount of work that goes into not only developing a new menu but also training the entire team on the production. From drinks to desserts, it’s not an easy process. We appreciate the effort! Want a peak at some of the new items? Turn the page and your mouth will begin to water. We are IN the holiday season and if I happen not to see you at the Ladies Holiday Luncheon, Gingerbread House Party, Santa Brunch, the Loch Smiths Christmas Performance or in the Clubhouse, please know I am wishing you and yours a happy holiday. My hope is you find peace, happiness and health in this season. Hug those you love a little tighter and make memories that will last far beyond any gift you will find under the tree. Take care, stay well, and have a fantastic holiday season!

-Kim Palmer

Our holiday events are hotter than chestnuts roasting on an open fire. The Ladies Holiday Luncheon, Santa Brunch, and Wine Dinner are officially SOLD OUT. But fear not - there's a waitlist for each. Please contact me if you would like to be added to the list and I will give you a call if anyone cancels. If you have a change of plans on our holiday festivities, give us a shout at least 48 hours before the event. If you cancel within the 48 hour window, you will be charged for the amount you are registered for. In the spirit of giving (and not losing things), our lost and found is bursting at the seams and beginning December 1st, we're rolling out a new system. We'll hang on to your forgotten treasures for 90 days, then off they go to embark on an adventure to a new home called Good Will. Except for the more complex items – Apple watches, key fobs, phones - they will be stored in a secured space. As we approach a busy holiday dining season, a few reminders: Fireside is a gorgeous dining setting in December, all adorned in holiday décor. We invite you to dine with us and soak in the magic of the season. Reservations are strongly suggested and you can contact me at 816322-1022 to RSVP. The 19th and 20th Holes remain open seating - first come, first served. Here's to a December filled with joy, laughter, and maybe a sprinkle of snowflakes (or event RSVPs). Cheers!

LLLGA INFORMATION As it’s turned out, although the LLLGA play days are done for the season, Mother Nature decided there was still some golf to be had! The early part of November gave us an unexpected gift; beautiful blue skies, comfortable temperatures and fairways that allowed lots of roll. Perfect golf weather! Hopefully, many of you were able to get out and enjoy a round or two. Speaking of golf, your LLLGA board will be meeting with our golf professionals and food and beverage representatives in early December to start planning our 2024 golf events. As we plan our schedule, we’ll be taking into consideration the muchappreciated feedback many of you have provided throughout the year regarding our playdays and events. As we’ve previously communicated, two big changes to our schedule will affect our play days. Next year, our 18-hole play days will move to Tuesday mornings and 9-hole play will be on Wednesday evenings. Feedback we received supported these changes so we’re looking forward to seeing more of you out on the course next year! While I know several of you are already planning your winter escapes, and may already be firmly planted in warmer climes, the club is doing its best to keep us entertained as the colder weather sets in. We’re looking forward to seeing some of you at the upcoming Ladies Holiday Event on December 4th. Those of us still in town will also have an opportunity to use any remaining Pro Shop credits on December 6th at the Member Appreciation Sale. The December calendar has several fun events planned so get on out and enjoy some of those! I hope you all had an enjoyable and tasty Thanksgiving and have many wonderful gatherings and events planned for December! Enjoy the light of laughter, the warmth of love and the joy of gratitude during this holiday season!
