Dear Members, Welcome 2021! I don’t remember being as happy to start a new calendar as I am right now. The beginning of a new year signals the time for planning our upcoming golf season. The 2021 Golf Event Guide is already underway and will be delivered to your inbox soon, thanks to Director of Golf, Sean Hanna, and his team. The Golf Operations team has done an amazing job throughout the past year, juggling the ups and downs of a pandemic amidst a staggering number of rounds played. To be honest, ALL of the staff is to be commended for a job well done. I’ve witnessed an amazing level of commitment and perseverance throughout our organization. Despite the uncertainty and stress, these associates handled themselves professionally, maturely and with a determination to make a difference. They make me very proud. With the announcement that the COVID vaccine is being administered, I am optimistic that 2021 will be a much better year for all of us. We’ll stay the course and continue practicing the safety measures that have gotten us this far. We can do this! I hope to see you at the Club soon.

On behalf of the entire Golf Operations team, we extend to our members a “Happy New Year!” As the team prepares for the 2021 golf season, we look forward to bringing some new products and apparel lines for you to enjoy. The final golf tournament schedule is being finalized and you will soon be receiving an online version of the annual Golf Event Guide which is a great tool that details each of our golf tournaments.
SEAN HANNA DIRECTOR OF GOLF seanh@lochlloyd.com
With the winter weather now here, I would like to remind you there are two holes cut on each green. The Golf Course Maintenance team cuts two holes to help spread out traffic on the greens during the winter months. We ask that when you are playing, please remove the flagstick and place it in the opposite cup when you have finished putting out. Basically, you are making the group behind you play to a different hole location. As a reminder, frost delays are a possibility during the winter, so please check for updates on ForeTees or call the Golf Shop to see if there are any delays. Please remember that Missouri is in our “off-season” and we cannot post scores while playing locally. If you are playing in an area that is in an “active” season, you may post your scores. Our “active” season will pick back up starting in March of 2021 and you will once again be asked to post all scores to your handicap at that time. Should you have any questions on this, please contact your Golf Professionals.
JANUARY HOURS OF OPERATION Golf Shop: 9a to 5p Tuesday-Sunday Practice Facility: 9:30a to 4:30p Tuesday-Sunday FIRST TEE TIMES Tee times will begin one hour after the Golf Shop opens, weather permitting

CLUB RE-GRIP SPECIAL During the month of January, we will offer a 20% discount when you re-grip your golf clubs at the Golf Shop. We have a wide variety of grips in stock, and if we don’t have the one you prefer, we can order it in for you. This is a great time of the year to get your clubs back to “good-as-new” condition in preparation for the coming golf season. Who knows, maybe you’ll even knock a stroke or two off your scores! Please contact the Golf Shop if you are interested in taking advantage of this offer.

Happy New Year from the Golf Course Maintenance team! From all of us, we hope that the holiday season has been filled with joy and full of blessings!
We’ve used a similar chart in the past, but as you’ll see from the data below, the weather has once again been a factor leading into the new year for the GCM team. With a drier December recording below average precipitation and snowfall, we had a few die-hard golfers getting in a round or two! However, now that we are into January, let’s see what Mother Nature has in store. As you can see from the highlighted areas in yellow, the majority of our snowfall has come early in the year. If you haven’t seen the latest edition of the
JEFF STEEN, CGCS DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE jeffs@lochlloyd.com
QuarterlyINSIGHT report, please reach out and I’d be happy to send you a copy. The next quarterly report will come out in March; however, if any projects or happenings on the property come up, I’ll send an update to keep you in-the-know!
The team has been working hard, taking advantage of the drier conditions (it’s cold, but dry), allowing us to accomplish many fall season tasks. The list of tasks is long and with the holidays now behind us, we are preparing to knock off a few additional projects as continued tree work, pathways, detail and drainage work will all be underway. In passing, please be sure to tip your hat or say hello to the team members. The associates on the GCM team are up early every day and out in the elements, working hard to enhance the golf course, surrounding property and community. It means a lot to them and they take pride in their jobs. On behalf of the entire GCM team, thank you again for all of your support. We are excited to get 2021 underway and hope for a mild winter and early spring! Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns or comments.
Happy New Year! Jeff Steen, CGCS Director of Golf Course Maintenance

HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE: A HUGE SUCCESS! sponsored by the Loch Lloyd Home & Garden Club to benefit Operation Santa! We are proud to announce that the 2020 Holiday Food Drive, sponsored by the Loch Lloyd Home & Garden Club to benefit Operation Santa, was a HUGE SUCCESS! The Clubhouse lobby was filled to the brim with non-perishable food items donated by members and residents. In addition, $8,745 in gift cards and checks were contributed. These funds were used by the Belton Welfare Association to purchase holiday gifts and food for local families in need this holiday season.
Thank you to all who helped make the holidays a little brighter for those less fortunate!

It’s a new year which often means making a resolution to change. If you’ve resolved to get (or stay) healthy in 2021 … we want to be part of that change. Whether you join a class, sign up to work out with a personal trainer or take a brisk walk around the neighborhood, the important thing is to JUST DO IT. The energy and time you put in will pay off in so many ways. Here are a few great reasons why regular exercise in the winter is SO good for you:
Exercise keeps you warm for hours; the rise in your body temperature during a workout has a calming, soothing effective on your body, too. LANCE DARLING FITNESS CENTER DIRECTOR lanced@lochlloyd.com Hours of Operation Open daily 5a to 10p with key fob access
Guest Policy
No guests are allowed in the Fitness Center at this time.
Regular exercise strengthens your immune system which makes you less susceptible to illness.
Exercise releases those “feel-good” brain chemicals that give you extra energy and stamina to get through the winter doldrums.
It’s easy to turn to comfort foods in the winter. Regular exercise allows you to indulge in some of those delicious goodies without winter weight gain. As you’ll see on the class schedule on the next page, there will be no classes held on New Year’s Day. Our YOGA classes will be held on Zoom the first two weeks of the month; we’ll switch to onsite classes at the Fitness Center after that time. Thank you for your support! Hope to see you soon! Happy New Year from your Food and Beverage team! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to welcome in the new year. December was a busy, action-packed month at the Club — even without our festive member events. I would like to thank our team for their hard work throughout 2020 and for their dedication to service. I’m so proud of them! By popular request, we are resuming our Groceries & More service and introducing our NEW Concierge Service, starting in January. Please see the next page for complete details on these programs. The holidays may be over but our WINE TAG SALE continues through the end of January. Ask your server for our list or call the Clubhouse. These are specially priced wines with limited availability. Once they’re gone … they’re gone! As traffic in the Clubhouse gets a little sparse in the winter, we want to remind you of our bar closing times. The bar will close two hours after the kitchen closes. If you are dining with us before the listed closing time … please stay and enjoy your after-dinner cocktails or finish that bottle of wine. However, if there are no diners in the Club at the time the kitchen closes, we will not keep the Clubhouse open. Thank you for your understanding and support of this policy. Stay warm and don’t forget we offer CURBSIDE to-go service so you can stay toasty in your car and we’ll bring your order right out to you!
