A Note

FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT

May was bustling with activity at Loch Lloyd Country Club. We were thrilled to host numerous graduation parties and family celebrations, a handful of committee meetings and of course, proud to orchestrate the 2022 Scotty for our members. As activities continue to increase at the Club, I would like to remind our members of the room use policy. If you are interested in using a room at the Club, for up to 2 hours, that does not need set-up by our team, this will be free of charge assuming the room/space is available and reserved appropriately. This can be facilitated by calling the Clubhouse at 816-322-1022. Please be mindful that all guests must be registered through the security office and adhere to our Club dress code. Now, let's dive into some other news - it's pool season! Our full golf and social members are able to enjoy our pool daily from 11am until 8pm. The pool grill/snack bar is available daily from 11am until 7pm. We are also excited to introduce an adult lap swim Monday-Friday from 7am until 8am. This will be expanded to 7am-10am on Saturday and Sunday. There will be 2 lanes open during this time for adult lap swim only. Please note there will be no lifeguard on duty and swimmers assume the risk.

As you can see, June will continue to be an exciting and active month at the Club. To ensure our members are up to date on Club happenings, Kim Palmer, Executive Experience & Brand Director, will have a monthly submission in this newsletter going forward. Get out those calendars we are going to have a good time. The Club has a positive spirit that continues to grow as we have new faces and new initiatives in place. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Golf

OPERATIONS Sean Hanna, Director of Golf

Wow! What a Scotty!! The annual Member-Member Golf Tournament has come and gone and what an incredible two days of golf it was. This year’s tournament featured our largest field ever, 144 players compacted into 12 flights. At the conclusion of play, the 12 flight winners headed down to #18 and began the alternate shot shootout. During the shootout, there were three teams with legitimate birdie attempts. Randy Roy was first to putt and just missed for birdie. Next to putt was Jared Bahr, sinking his 23 foot putt for birdie which was met by big cheers from the crowd. The drama was thick as reigning co-champion, Allen Schlup lined up for the tying putt. While it was a valiant effort, the putt didn’t fall and the team of Jared Bahr and Sam Steelman were crowned the 2022 Scotty Champions! A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the team of Jared Bahr and Sam Steelman (see front cover) and a big thank you to everyone that participated in the fun. Now that we have new Scotty champs, it's time to get ready to Whummle! This annual men’s member-guest tournament will take place Wednesday, June 22nd through Saturday June 25th. This event is a can't miss - always packed with great fun, exceptional golf and it’s a primetime to showcase the club to all of our guests. As we enter June, I want to say Happy Father’s Day in advance to all the dad's out there. Enjoy your special day and I hope it allows you to spend a bit of time at the club, then head home to the family. And who knows... maybe even watch some US Open golf from your favorite recliner or couch. See you on the 1st tee,

Sean

Executive Experience & Brand Director KIM PALMER

A month under my belt as an associate of Loch Lloyd and all I have to say is THANK YOU! Each and every one of the members I have had the pleasure of meeting have welcomed me to the Club with the spirit of community that is uniquely Loch Lloyd. Each morning, when I drive through the gates, I feel a sense of belonging and I look forward to working towards the vision of creating a member experience that is unmatched. It's already been a humbling experience and I am grateful for the opportunity. My first month has been filled with a ton of learnings and laughs, anticipated challenges, and conversations that help sculpt the vision of the future state of Loch Lloyd. Since I am task driven and goal oriented, I made a list of to-do's I wanted to accomplish in my first 30 days: Meet and become acquainted with our valued members Listen to feedback that will help us reach our goal of ensuring a consistent and extraordinary experience Add value to the orchestration of May activities, with a focus on the Scotty, and learn about the successes of past events while looking towards the future Publish an events calendar that will give our members a view of the year ahead Become a trusted member of the team that is filled with exceptional associates

While some of these items will take me longer than a calendar month, I feel I am on my way and for those items not yet crossed off the list... I am coming for you!

The calendar was an important piece for the team. It is our hope that, by giving a birds-eye view of the next 7 months, you will be better equipped to enjoy Club events. Please note this calendar will be updated monthly as we work to schedule even more opportunities for members to enjoy Loch Lloyd. One item you will see on the calendar is the much anticipated WHITE OUT PARTY. While that date had previously been penciled in for June, after much consideration and conversation, it has been postponed until September. (And for those worried about white after Labor Day, I consulted with Emily Post and she has given her approval). This shift will enable more time for our members to mark their calendars and will set the staff up for success as we work to orchestrate an exceptional event. We fully anticipate returning to a Spring date in 2023. I am looking forward to making memories with and for you all. Take care and stay well!

Kim Palmer

Help me in welcoming Dakotah McBride to the Loch Lloyd Maintenance Team. He will be serving as an Assistant Superintendent, working alongside Travis Boeve and Stephen Wilds. Dakotah was previously the Assistant Superintendent at Lakeside Memorial Golf Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma, a role he served in since receiving his Turf Management and Crop Science degree from Oklahoma State University. Dakotah developed his passion for agriculture at a young age, learning his families business, McBride Agronomics, based in his hometown of Hooker, Oklahoma. He is an outdoorsman and an avid bass fisherman, spending much of his free time on the water. He has even competed in tournament angling. If you see Dakotah on the course, please give him a warm Loch Lloyd welcome!

Turfbreeze Fans

Grant Suderman

Temperatures have exceeded 90° in recent weeks as summer has made an

appearance at Loch Lloyd . To combat the hot and humid weather, two Turfbreeze oscillating fans will be re-installed on hole #15. These fans have proven to be a useful tool by providing air movement across the playing surface, helping to

manage moisture content and lowering soil temperatures - two critical components

in these hot summer months. When the soil temperatures rise above 86°, bentgrass has a net energy loss, resulting in a loss of functionality by roots and leaves. It is imperative we keep the fans on during these hot months to ensure a pristine course. Thanks for your understanding and I hope to see you on the course!
