temperatures with drastic swings from sunny days perfect for golf to snowy days cut out for sledding, it’s time for all of us to enjoy some easy going spring weather. Recently, we welcomed Mark Church and Nic Bandelier to our Food and Beverage team. Both Mark and Nic have impressive resumes and we are fortunate to have them on board. With the bank of experience in the industry, we are confident they will be able to lead our Food and Beverage team to the level of dining excellence you desire and deserve. On Saturday, April 16th the Easter Bunny will be joining us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Club will also offer our Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 17th. Be sure to make your reservations soon. I look forward to seeing all of you in the Clubhouse and on the golf course soon.

Golf Operations SEAN HANNA, DIRECTOR OF GOLF
Spring is in the air…trees are blooming, lawns are getting greener, baseball’s back, and let’s not forget about the Masters Golf tournament. April is typically the month where golf starts to pick up here at Loch Lloyd as well. Many of you will kick the dust off your clubs and our “snow birds” start returning bringing more action to the club as the month advances. It’s time to sign up for this year’s Pride Club membership. The Pride

“merchandise club”. Your $200 investment goes straight to your credit book and you begin the instant savings. 10% off all hard goods, 20% off apparel and a one-time 40% off apparel only purchase. It pays to be a Pride Club member. Don’t forget, the golf shop matches all prices and already has the lowest golf ball pricing in the area. As we start to slowly warm up and more people start playing golf again, please consider pairing up on golf carts again. Throughout the pandemic, many of you opted to ride as singles in golf carts and we understood why. Now that much of the world is starting to turn the page and return to “normal” we are asking that you pair up. Pairing up puts far less stress on the golf course because cart traffic is minimized and believe it or not, pairing up also helps control pace of play. Also, be on the lookout for emails regarding Golf Club Fitting Days. In the past we have hosted a “multi-vendor” demo day where all of the manufacturers would set up at the practice facility and you would have the opportunity to test all of the different clubs. For years, the manufacturers have been trying to get away from the “multi-vendor” events. COVID hit in 2020 and they are all now doing individual fitting days and we are now hosting them like that. Play ready golf and see you on the first tee!

Loch Lloyd Ladies Golf Association TERRI THOMAS, LLLGA PRESIDENT
Hello Ladies, It is time to register for the 2022 Loch Lloyd Ladies Golf Association! There is no need to write a check, as annual membership fees will be charged to your member account. Please fill out the attached registration form and either scan or mail this form to Sherie Bartlett (information provided on the registration form). Opening Day is April 20th with a shot gun start at 1pm and dinner afterward. If you are unable to join us for golf, you can still join us for dinner! Sign-up on fore-tees for golf, box lunch (if wanted), and dinner. To get ready for the season, the LLLGA will be coordinating two instructional clinics with the Golf Shop. You must be an LLLGA member to participate in the clinics. If you are a beginner golfer, you will want to sign up for the 3-hole instructional clinic on Thursdays. Our Golf Professionals will work with you on the practice range and then take you out to the golf course to play 3 holes with additional instruction and guidance. There will be four sessions with an instructional fee of $100. This is the perfect introduction to our LLLGA. This clinic is limited to the first 15 members to sign up! We hope that you will stay around after the clinic and join the 9-hole ladies at the club for drinks and a bite to eat. If you participate in the clinic, you can start playing in our 9-hole play days while you establish your handicap! If you have an established handicap (that you are wishing was a bit lower), you will want to take advantage of the Get Back in the Swing clinic on Tuesdays. This will also have four sessions at a cost of $100. This clinic is limited to the first 25 members to sign up. Contact the Golf Shop to sign-up for the clinics.

Golf Course Maintenance GRANT SUDERMAN, GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Hello members! Spring has officially arrived bringing warmer weather and much desired sunshine along with it! The course has attracted multiple full days of golf following a cold and snow covered start to 2022. The Golf Course Maintenance Team is excited to welcome you back as we begin our 2022 golf season! Tarped Areas We have implemented multiple cultural practices to select areas in fairways #3, 6, 7, 14 & 16 to promote turf recovery. These areas have been aerified, topdressed, fertilized, and covered with tarps until the zoysia grass growing season. These areas have been a challenge the past three years and the management of these areas will be a focus moving forward. The goal of this practice is to promote additional early season turf recovery. Tarped areas affecting play will be played as ground under repair. The tarp on #1 green tee has been removed and the tee is open for regular play. The tarp covering Hole #9 Dormie North green has been removed but the hole will remain closed with a tentative opening date of July 1. Drainage Install Drainage to chronic wet areas including the end of the #3 fairway & left of #10 fairway were completed in March. These areas will be played as ground under repair until further notice. Spring Aerification Spring aerification was completed on April 4-5. We used ½ inch hollow coring tines. This differed from recent spring aerification practices using ¼ inch tines. The larger tines remove more greens profile that is then replaced with sand. This more aggressive approach will encourage maximum water and air movement through the soil profile creating healthier, firmer and more consistent playing conditions throughout the summer months. Removing additional area also requires more recovery time. Weather depending, a recovery time of two weeks is expected for our spring aerification process. I look forward to seeing you on the course!
