We’ll cap off summer with a Labor Day Weekend events including a DJ at the Pool on both Saturday and Monday plus our GROG PARTY and FIREWORKS on Sunday, September 5th. Dear Member, Time flies. With the summer of 2021 behind us, we can now start to focus on fall projects and preparing the golf course for the 2022 golf season. Here are the tasks that we will be focusing on during this month of September:  Overseeding weak areas in the rough. Specific areas are #2, #13 and #3. These are typically high-traffic areas that are overwhelmed by the rigors of a typical golf season. Some areas will be sodded in October.  Two more applications of PoaCure will be applied in the middle and at the end of the month. Overseeding/plugging weak spots from PoaCure applications will take place in the spring. Specific areas are #3, #7 and #17.  Redistributing sand in greenside bunkers and adding more if necessary. We will move on to fairway bunkers when greensides are complete.  A fungicide will be sprayed on all Zoysia to prevent a disease called Large Patch from forming during the cool months in the fall and spring. This list will keep us pretty busy this month and a new list of items will be forming for October. Have a great month and I look forward to seeing you around the Club. Regards, Gary Sailer, CGCS Director of Golf Course Maintenance garys@fivestarlifestyles.com
