ow. That’s all I can say as I think about this edition of Fix Home and Garden Magazine. By far our largest, this issue’s completion is a celebration of hard work—not just for the Fix team—but for dozens of local professionals who shared their stories, photos, time, and expertise with us. Inside you’ll find inspiring tales of “before and after” projects, from rebuilding after a devastating fire to reviving an outdated house to building a backyard oasis out of an empty patch of grass. We also have a sneak peek of the highly anticipated 2012 VESTA Home Show. For months, five Mid-South homebuilders have worked to complete five residences at St. James Place subdivision in Germantown. I had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time on the construction site meeting with builders and interior designers; I have to say, their meticulousness and dedication makes putting a magazine together look like connect-thedots! Take note that our industry partners who are participating in the VESTA show are marked by gold seals througout the magazine. I can’t wait to see their finished work when the show opens on October 6. Until then, the Fix team will take a short breather before we jump right into our next issue. Things are never boring around here, for sure. In all seriousness, we hope that this issue turns out to be an inspirational guide to the care and keeping of your home and garden.. Please let us know what you think! John & Jin powell
I
first met Jin Powell several years ago when I took her drawing class at The University of Memphis. As the other students and I struggled to complete charcoal sketches, Jin wandered between the desks not saying a word. If a drawing wasn’t going well, all she had to do was flick her finger across the page and make a stroke or two with the charcoal for the image to magically come together. In that class, Jin also introduced me to the idea that our work is not precious, something that many young artists and writers find hard to grasp. She told a story about a life-size clay figure she had worked on for weeks. “My professor came over and tore the clay apart,” she said. “He told me to start all over. I was devastated.” Jin explains that she sat down and recreated the sculpture in an hour, better than it was before. “It was not a waste,” she shared. “Everything we do is for learning.” Recently, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Jin and meeting her husband, John, who works closely with her

Jin studied art and sculpture at the Central Institute of Fine Arts in Beijing, China, before moving to the U.S. to study bronze casting. Since then, she has worked as a sculptor, with exhibitions and collections all over the world. John has a background in architecture and a passion for the technical aspects of producing their work, like the metal forgery he put together onsite. John led me through the workshop, pointing out the inspiration boards mounted in several locations. On one board, a magazine clipping of a modern building, a photo of poppies that

John took in Colorado, and a sketch of a ballerina hung side by side. At the time, they were preparing to attend the Port Clinton Art Festival in Highland Park, Illinois. John describes their operation as a small business; some of the time they produce their pieces and the rest of the time they travel the country attending art shows. “The pieces we take to the show are whimsical. They say so much without having to use words,” John tells me as he shows me a collection of balletic figures balancing on decorative pedestals. The sculptures are made of metal, gypsum, layers of paint with embellishments in other metals. For this particular series, Jin expresses positivity, hope, and femininity; the arms, legs, and dresses of the women contd. on pg 22

Instead of a petallike skirt, her dress is made from plaster and marked with holes, creating interesting shapes and shadows. “She was inspired by this incredible river in Texas, the San Gabriel River,” John shares. “There are limestone formations like this with cavities all through the rock. We find inspiration from everything all the time,” he says. “It never stops.” — Holly Whitfield

The story of Oakley and Willa Bohannon’s Germantown home, rebuilt after a heartbreaking fire, may not strictly fit within the definition of a “renovation.” There are no “before” photos, unless you count your own mental image of an empty lot where their previous house once stood; not even the foundation remained after cleanup from the fire. Instead, this story is an example of how a team of builders, designers, and artisans created something wonderful out of nothing but collaboration, creativity, and faith.
L
ast fall, Oakley and Willa Bohannon watched as builder Jimmy Lovett and his team broke ground on the same lot where they had lived for many years. Since their backyard pool was the only part of the property that survived the fire, they rebuilt completely from scratch. Jimmy recommended interior designer Lynn Wells Catron of Germantown design firm Fresh Perspectives to help guide the homeowners through the challenging task of designing the interior of their new home. “Willa and Oakley have differing tastes. He prefers something a little elaborate, while she likes a tailored look,” Lynn says. She incorporated both of their preferences, but only after plenty of trial and error. “Willa and I met quite a few times,” she laughs. “We depended on Lynn to lead us. She emailed us almost everyday with ideas, and brought by many examples,” Oakley adds. Other than Willa’s request to use brick in the kitchen and autumninspired color throughout the home, the rest of the project started out with a lot of brainstorming and trial-and-error. As with any successful design effort, the team remained open to new ideas and evolutions as the pieces started to come together. Furniture from different companies arrived at different times while builders worked to finish the interior. It can be difficult to visualize a finished project while the components are streaming in bit by bit. “At one point I told Lynn, ‘I’m not sure this is working,’” Willa laughs. “But she told me to trust her, and she was right. I would not change anything at all.” From the front entry to the upstairs balcony, the finished product is a cohesive, warm and inviting space that perfectly expresses both of their styles. A custom-designed iron and glass table sits in the center of the foyer, while library paneling breaks

up the expansive two-story front wall. To one side of the foyer, Lynn outfitted Oakley’s office with built-in shelving and deep, warm colors. Antique toy cars, trophies from his duck hunting expeditions, and other tasteful memorabilia personalize the space. “This is the kind of office I’ve always wanted,” he shares. One of the Bohannons' favorite changes from their old house was to put the master suite downstairs. Lynn chose soft sage-hued walls in the master bed and bath to create a subtle differentiation from the public spaces. The kitchen, great room and sunroom share an open floor plan. A breathtaking two-story brick wall serves as a visual separation between them without closing them off from one another. Lynn found a photo from another home with a similar brick fireplace-turned-wall instead of a traditional mantle, and the Bohannons fell in love. Lynn repeated her brick design in the kitchen to fulfill one of Willa’s few direct requests. “I have always wanted brick in my kitchen,” Willa shares. The designer also chose the vent hood, chiclet tile backsplash, and a combination of red and neutral granite for the island and perimeter countertops, respectively. A sunroom and small bar area round out the first floor. “The sunroom is one of my favorite rooms,” Lynn describes. “I wanted to introduce some cooler color in here with blues and greens.” The upstairs is primarily a space for Willa and Oakley’s daughter and granddaughter, with youthful colors for their granddaughter’s room and playroom. A balcony looking over the great room gives an eye-level view of the rustic beams, handcrafted by Lakeland woodworker Wade Burrus. As for the exterior, the Bohannons chose a house plan that included a third garage and pool house. They had enjoyed their backyard pergola at their old home, but they love their new covered patio even more. For their granddaughter and her friends, the outdoor restroom/pool house is a great alternative to running in and out of the house. Since Willa and Oakley have lived in the finished home since March, they’ve had time to settle in and reflect on the tumultuous few years they’ve endured. The two are glad they decided to stay in their spot. “We had mixed emotions about coming back and building a house where we had lost everything,” Oakley shares. “But the pieces have just fallen into place.” Lynn says she’s honored to have worked on such an all-encompassing and rewarding project, and admits she “gets goosebumps” when her clients describe the warm atmosphere of their new abode. “It feels homey in here,” Willa explains. The home feels like it wraps it arms around you.”

hree years ago, one family of four moved from another state to settle in East Memphis. While they loved the neighborhood, their house presented a challenge. Previous owners had remodeled only one bathroom several years before, and aging wallpaper, drapes, and fixtures gave a stale feeling to the house. When Memphis architect Jeff Bramlett assured them that the home “had good bones”, the homeowners charged forward with a plan to remodel, update, and settle into their new abode. The evolution spread from the inside out. Dull green paint and overgrown landscaping hid much of the facade, and the uneven driveway showed cracks in the pea gravel. Local company Agrispace installed a low brick wall, structured beds, and a freshly paved driveway to create an inviting scene on the front lawn. Statuesque white columns and trim allow these formal architectural features to pop against the traditional red brick, a perfect fit for the home’s style and the neighborhood. The homeowners enlisted the help of Bramlett and contractor John Caviness for the extensive interior remodeling. Throughout the home, walls and floors needed refinishing and bathrooms required a complete overhaul. Removing bright wallpaper from the eighties and painting the walls in soft, neutral tones made an immediate difference. New custom drapes replaced the heavy dated window coverings, while old carpet went out the door. Bathrooms throughout the house still contain refinished original cast-iron tubs and a few marble countertops, but the rest of the counters, cabinets, floor tile, and fixtures are new. The previous owner took most of the antique lighting fixtures, but this gave the homeowners an opportunity to illuminate their spaces in their own style. Next, they embarked on remodeling the kitchen. Wood cabinets, salmon-colored granite countertops, blue slate tile floor, and pink wallpaper, created confusion and made the space seem smaller. The residents had a vision of an inviting, clean space and achieved this spot on with white cabinets, pale walls, warm wood floors, and a plenty of natural light. Before, a screen door in the kitchen’s corner served as an abrupt threshold. Now, a brief hallway extends from the previous doorway, the perfect space for a sports locker for the owners’ two high-school age boys. before

With a charming view of the back patio, the formal dining room feels spacious and welcoming. Unfortunately, a long dark hallway blocked off this space and cramped the entire floor plan. In the most dramatic change to this home, the family came up with the idea to remove a wall and open up the entire first level. The homeowner’s taste in antiques along with fresh wall colors and contemporary art make this room the showpiece of the home. For the master suite, new window coverings and paint spruced up the spacious bedroom, but the his-and-hers bathroom called for rearrangement. The remodeling team removed a small shower and tub, installing a spacious shower instead; they also replaced cabinets, countertops, and closet storage. Two bedrooms upstairs simply went through cosmetic changes to make them more appropriate for teenage boys, but both bathrooms were gutted and rebuilt with almost all new fixtures. In nearly every room of this home, upstairs and downstairs, there is a constant feeling of refreshment and revival. While a few finishing touches remain, this family’s house now feels like home.

spacious, contemporary house in East Memphis felt like home to one family of four, with one exception: the master suite. “The couple wanted a Zen, spa-like feel for their master bedroom and bathroom,” explains interior designer Graham Reese, who worked with architect Brad Shapiro and builder Ken Garland to complete the renovation project. “The bedroom wasn’t spacious and we didn’t have much storage,” the homeowner adds.

“The bathroom wasn’t laid out in an efficient way. It really felt more like a hallway.” To create the serene retreat, the remodeling team started with the bedroom. “We kept the clean lines but added more natural textures,” Graham says. “We used teak and walnut in matte finishes to soften up a sleek contemporary look.” The builder added a reading and lounging alcove onto the existing bedroom, a room within a room that serves as a refuge for the

busy parents of two. “The bathroom and closet were the real transformations,” the homeowner reveals. Instead of blue tiling and unremarkable cabinets, separate vanities, wall-mounted teak cabinets, and a freestanding soaking tub transformed the space. The walkin steam shower with dueling heads is another addition, and a sloping teak ceiling adds warmth. Clearstory windows allow for natural light without a need for window treatments.
“A lot of homeowners are looking for more closet space,” Graham says of the impressive storage renovation. Adjustable shelves and drawers, including elevated platforms for shoes, allow for maximum storage. Although the couple shares one closet, the new layout feels more like his-and-hers spaces. From the new reading nook in the bedroom, to the luxurious steam shower, to the smart reconfiguration of the closet, this family’s master suite is now as welcoming and comfortable as the rest of their home.

“Everything kind of floats in the room,” Graham says of the remodeled bathroom. “The tub faucets come up out of the floor, and we raised the cabinets off from the ground. Everything feels very open and airy.” A dark granite floor with a honed finish and thick travertine slab countertops finish out the space.

wo years ago, Mary Beth Wiggins called her lifelong friend and interior designer Jane Sacharczyk with a challenge. She had lived in her Cordova home with her husband David for ten years, but their living room still felt unsettled. “We bought pieces we loved, but the space did not feel cohesive. I didn’t want to spend time in the room,” Mary Beth recalls. A purple couch, glass coffee table, and a smattering of bright chairs expressed the Wiggins’ contemporary tastes, but the warmth and coziness they desired were missing. Furniture lined the walls, leaving an uncomfortable distance between seats and stifling conversation. “We sat down and they asked, ‘we can’t pull this together; what’s wrong?’” Jane says of the first informal design consultation. “They had no pattern, only color, and no wood. Wood makes a space warm. Also, the furniture arrangement was too static, and not cozy.”

David and Mary Beth Wiggins express their vibrant personality through bold colors in their bedding, walls, and oneof-a-kind tapestry as a headboard. A charming book collection completes the incredibly cozy sleeping space.
The first step was to move the dark-hued couch out of the room and lose the coffee table and hand-me-down piano. Then, they rearranged the bookshelf and a new couch to face the fireplace with a walkthrough between them. Jane convinced the couple to keep the existing rug and wall color, but added two colorful club chairs, patterned drapes, and the room’s showpiece: a quirky bar in a silver finish. A contemporary-style red chair and a black leather Barcelona chair were moved and pushed toward the center of the space to encourage conversation. A traditional, neutral mantle fades away into a sunset-inspired canvas (painted by Mary Beth), metal sculptures, and orange glass vessels. Art by local painter Joey Evangelisti brings even more color into the room. “We spend time in here everyday, and we used to avoid it,” Mary Beth shares. “I do much more entertaining than I used to. People that come here always talk about the color.” Photo provided by Fresh Perspectives

His bed sat in the corner, with a headboard and plaid quilt that didn’t add anything to the walls’ beige and white color palette. The Munyons are graduates of The University of Alabama and devoted Crimson Tide fans, and naturally their son has a collection of Alabama football memorabilia. There was no display space for the fan gear, not to mention storage for other personal items or a workspace. Realizing it was time for a change, Kyle and Stacie enlisted the

help of Collierville interior designer and fellow Alabama alum Becca Banker Gaines. They charged her with creating a space that expressed their son’s interests. “It also had to be mature enough to last him through high school,” Becca explains. Pulling the bed out of the corner and flanking it with matching dressers and turtle-shell lamps gave this room instant personality and simple sophistication. A group of black and white vintage football photos hangs in a classic arrangement on the wall facing the bed. A local craftsman built the locker-inspired metal shelving. “This was one way to display some of his collectibles in

While she steers clear of overly themed rooms, neither the family nor the designer could resist a nod to the houndstooth pattern. “The pillows are a direct reference to Bear Bryant,” she explains. Becca a hung magnetic linen covering in a crimson color on the wall behind the desk, for displaying papers and awards without leaving marks on the walls. Now a more mature space, the designer made sure the Munyon’s seventh grader still felt at home: “the grey-washed wood side tables and wrinkled Belgian linen bedding keep the room feeling relaxed and livable.”

Chestnut Hall
Furniture and Interiors
O
n April 1, 1989, two siblings opened a modest shop for interiors on West Street in historic Germantown. Michael Baty and Karen Baty Rice combined their design sensibilities with their experience in the family furniture business, and within three months, they were ready to expand into the adjacent building. In another year, they moved to a still larger space across the street, and in 2001 Chestnut Hall Furniture and Interiors premiered their customized showroom. “We want to show color and display pieces in a room-like setting,” Michael describes. “We don’t want to simply put furniture in rows; that’s not fun or visual for the customer.” The showroom vignettes flow with a medley of vibrant pieces, classic furniture, and charming accessories. And it constantly evolves.

“We routinely create a whole new look,” designer Stacey McSpadden shares. “It excites them. I have clients say ‘I’m coming in for my weekly fix!’” The shopping experience at Chestnut Hall is the foundation for the business’ longevity. “We can take someone around the showroom and put things together in a way they may not have considered,” designer Lana Zepponi explains. “It’s a neat process. Depending on time limitations, it’s easy for us to pull together a great looking room from what we have, because we have such a diverse collection.” Twice a year, the buying staff at Chestnut Hall travels to High Point Market in North Carolina to select new products. The market process involves much more than window-shopping. “We take each piece through our filter. Is this a good value? Will it appeal to our customer? Is it an exciting ‘wow’ piece or a solid staple?” Lana says. “It’s kind of a labor intensive process.” With over 300 lines and extensive knowledge, the shop is one of the Mid-South’s portals to the latest in home furnishings and design. “We also listen to our customers and continuously pay attention to what they look for,” Stacey adds. “We meet different needs, whether it’s just a comfortable room, the perfect recliner, or something stylish to admire.” Michael’s business philosophy, which he has applied since the opening day of Chestnut Hall, is similar: “When you take care of your customers and keep their best interests at heart, then you’ll be successful.”

hen we moved in, I couldn’t see anything out back but grass and a sea of roofs,” Kandi Reilly recalls. “That’s just not my style.” Kandi and her husband Mike have lived in the Berryhill Farms neighborhood in Cordova for over a decade, and have slowly but surely transformed the barren 1/3 acre backyard into a lush, colorful, and fun space. They started planting in 2003, and have added a new project each year. Their front garden, originally just grass, is now a vibrant jungle with plenty of shade and a graceful willow tree. A lagoon-like pool and tiki hut for grilling and dining make up the backyard patio area; a few steps down, flowering plants surround a wooden swing and rows of
evergreens line the fence. “Everything in this garden we’ve done personally. I’ve done all the planting, all the rock work. Mike’s done all the woodwork and the pool,” Kandi says. Mike and Kandi have experience in the construction industry, so several years ago Mike compelled some friends to help him build a pool as a birthday gift for Kandi several years ago. “She had already done most of the landscaping, and the spot for the pool had a perfect lagoon-like feel,” he shares. The pool is in partial shade, so even during this year’s sizzling early summer, the water stayed crisp and comfortable. Then Mike built retaining walls around the pool, creating a transition from the back deck down to the lawn. “We’ve sort of got an illusion here,” Kandi explains. “The combination of the green fence with tall plants in front and behind, it just looks like it keeps going.”
s e pte m b e r • o cto b e r 2012

The next spring, Mike built fences around the pool area and installed the wooden tiki hut with an outdoor kitchen and television. The couple has personalized this spot with quirky signs and found objects, like the deer skull they found at Shelby Farms. The whole space has a fun and playful feeling. “The best part of the garden is my hut,” Mike laughs. “I put on the golf channel or ESPN while I’m grilling. It’s become the favorite place.” The adjoining fence is for privacy, and Mike hand-built the louvered panels to maintain airflow. “You can open and close them for ventilation,” he explains. “They turn like blinds. Plus, I like the layered look.” He and his wife own Southern Screens, where they carry the solar screens that Mike installed to protect his appliances. At the end of the day, he can enclose the hut and the back patio by lowering the motorized screens, which can block wind and sunlight. Kandi is a Master Gardener, and the plants are her speciality. Some of her favorites include the evergreens around the perimeter, two vitex with blue blooms, and a rose vine that erupts in purple buds just once a year. “The thing about a garden is that every few months it looks completely different,” Kandi shares. “In the spring, it’s pinks and purples and blues, and now it’s reds and yellows.” As with the blooms of the plants, everything about the couple’s garden is in flux, a labor of love that they plan to evolve and contribute to each year. They’ve built, installed, and planted nearly everything themselves. Next, they plan to expand their outdoor kitchen by using the tiki hut as a dining bar, and extracting the grill to make a separate cooking area. The Reillys enjoy a steady stream of projects, but the garden also expresses their easygoing personalities. “I start my day with a cup of coffee and the paper,” Mike says. “I come out here and sit by the pool under the willow tree as the sun comes up. It’s so peaceful.” 58

neat fix by Sarah Matheny Gordon
The Care and Keeping of
Silver W
hether your silver cutlery was a wedding gift or a family heirloom, caring for this precious tableware requires a little know-how. Cleaning and proper storage will ensure that you can preserve your set’s value and still experience the pleasure of a well-appointed table.
Wash silver immediately after use to save yourself a lot of time and effort. Certain foods, like tomatoes, eggs, and salt, contain sulfides that will tarnish your silver. Use mild detergent and dry immediately with a flannel or felt-like cloth. For storage, wrap pieces individually in clean, lint-free, acid-free cloth. A silver storage box lined with felt will do just fine, so long as silver pieces don’t touch. For serving pieces, wrap individually in felt satchels or cloth. Never stack silver or let pieces touch if storing for long; you should also wash and store stainless steel flatware separately from silver. Minimize the need for polishing by storing the pieces in something airtight and safe from humidity. In a pinch, roll individual pieces or accordion-fold them in a cloth and store safely in a wooden drawer to avoid scratches. You’ll enjoy your silver more (and keep it looking its best) if you use it regularly. There’s no rule that says you can only use fine china and silver on Christmas! Keep your set in regular rotation, and over time these exquisite pieces will develop a character and luster that will brighten any table.

Tuscan Antipasto Stuffed Bread
T
raditional antipasto gets a makeover in this recipe. All the components are layered into a hollowed out loaf of rustic bread and then sliced to reveal a stunningly colorful sandwich. While it’s sure to whet the appetite, you may end up making this the meal by itself. Serves 6 to 8.
Vinaigrette 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar ¼ tablespoon granulated sugar, or to taste 1 clove garlic, minced ¼ teaspoon fine salt, or to taste 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh basil 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Stuffed Bread 1 round loaf rustic Italian bread (approximately 7-inches in diameter) 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce ¼ to ½ small sweet yellow onion, thinly sliced 2 ounces thinly sliced provolone cheese, divided 1 large oven-roasted red bell pepper 1 ounce thinly sliced prosciutto or Parma ham 2 ounces thinly sliced fresh mozzarella 8 to 12 thin slices ripe tomatoes, divided 3 to 4 roasted portobello mushroom caps 1 ounce thinly sliced Genoa salami or Sopressata Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste 8 pepperoncini (or pitted olives or cherry tomatoes) Special Equipment: 8 (4-inch) bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
For the Vinaigrette
Whisk together the vinegar, sugar, garlic, salt, pepper and herbs. Add the oil in a slow, steady stream whisking constantly and vigorously until the vinaigrette is creamy and emulsified.
For the Stuffed Bread 1. Cut off the top fourth and reserve. Carefully hollow out the center of the bread leaving a ½-inch thick wall. Set aside the hollowed out bread and its top until needed. 2. Toss the romaine with the vinaigrette to lightly coat; set aside. Place the onions in a small bowl, add 2 teaspoons of the vinaigrette. 3. Layer the ingredients in the hollowed out bread (i.e., provolone, tomato, mushroom, provolone, etc.) adding 1 tsp. of vinaigrette every few layers. 4. Replace the top of the bread, and press gently. Wrap the stuffed bread tightly with plastic wrap, and store in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes, up to 4 hours. To serve: Push 8 long sandwich picks or skewers into the top of the bread and down through the fillings. Each pick should be positioned to hold one wedge-shaped slice of stuffed bread together. Use a serrated knife to slice the stuffed loaf into 8 triangularshaped portions. Top each skewer with a pepperoncini, olive or cherry tomato. Serve slightly chilled or at room temperature.

Incandescent v. CFLs v. LEDs
The Truth
T
here are a lot of opinions about compact fluorescent lighting (CFL) and their Edison counterpart, the incandescent light bulb. In this article I'm going to stir clear of opinions and simply take a look at the differences between an incandescent bulb and Energy Star rated bulbs like CFLs or LEDs.
How do homeowners pay for energy? Our local utility company charges us for the energy we use in a unit of measure called a kilowatt hour (KWH). Most of us pay 10-15 cents per KWH. To think of this in terms of light bulbs, to run 10 incandescent 100W bulbs for 1 hour would cost $0.15 You may be thinking that’s not too bad, but most of us have more than ten light bulbs and we use them much more than one hour a month. For example, if you take these same 10 bulbs and leave them on for one month, you would pay $108! Is there a cheaper way?
My House
I’ll use my house as an example to compare costs for using incandescent, CFL, or LED lighting. I counted all the light receptacles in my house and came up with 146. Even though I built my own house, I was a little surprised by how many light receptacles I had. Now for simplicity, I'm going to assume: 1. I use the same kind of bulb in all my fixtures, all at 60W or the equivalent. 2. I have on all my light for 5 hours a day, or about 20% of the time. 3. I pay about 10 cents per KWH to my electric company.

Savings Payback Analysis
If I invest in CFLs or LEDs, which cost more than incandescent, will I get my money back? Let’s consider a six-year period, which is the average time people live in their homes. I’ll assume that energy and bulb costs remain constant (which is not likely to happen).

You can see that the CFLs greatly out perform either the LEDs or incandescent bulbs. You could earn back the cost of using CFLs in just 4 months. Even though there are more energy savings with LEDs, the up-front cost is so high you can't justify using them just on energy savings alone. For my house, we are going with the CFLs.
A Few Notes Drawbacks to CFLs: they use mercury gas vapor and produce more UV light than incandescent lights. It’s important to properly handle and dispose of CFLs, and to consider the affects of CFLs if you are UV sensitive.
