10 ways to use the
FRED JONES JR. MUSEUM OF ART
1. Experience the real thing for free. The museum’s collection includes more than 17,000 objects. 2. Travel the world. You can study a variety of world cultures throughout time by looking at art. 3. Go behind the scenes. Want to see or study artwork not currently on display? You can arrange a special visit.
4. Make art from art. Students in art, music, dance, creative writing, and other areas draw inspiration from the museum’s exhibitions and collections. 5. Give your 2¢. Help the museum by participating in a student focus group.
6. Host your event. Book the museum as the venue for your special event. Discounts are available to student organizations!
7. Intern at the museum. Internships are available at the museum in the following departments: curatorial, education, event planning, preparation, publicity, and registration. 8. Be a part of the action. Join the Art Museum Ambassdors student group to help plan events, come up with new programs, promote the museum on campus, and much more. 9. Have fun with friends. Learn together at programs like College Night or enjoy sneak previews of exhibitions at our student opening parties! A great place to impress a date, too. Open late on Thursdays! 10. Visit on your own. Many of the museum’s galleries change on a regular basis, so remember to stop by between classes to see what’s new.
