the flagler promise Starting or returning to college during or after military service can be challenging. That’s why we’ve put together this quick reference guide to answer your most important questions about Flagler College. Flagler promises an education that will have a lifelong value for you.
Flagler Measures of Value ·Personal Attention by Design: 1:17 faculty to student ratio and an average class size of 18.2 students. ·Accomplished Faculty: Flagler faculty have earned degrees from Columbia and Northwestern, held real world positions such as White House Bureau Chief, been awarded prestigious Fulbright Scholarships and been recognized for teaching excellence by The Princeton Review. ·High Caliber Programs: 32 highly focused majors and 38 minors with nationally recognized programs in Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration and Criminology. ·Strong Outcomes: Nearly 85% of Flagler graduates accept positions or get into graduate schools within six months of graduation.
Military Training and Education Transfer Credit policy Flagler College recognizes the value of military education and training and uses American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations to assess potential transfer credit for active duty and veteran students.
The maximum possible transfer credit for any combination of military training, education, and service is 19 semester hours. (See exception below) • Up to 15 hours of academic credit may be awarded and applied to general education or elective requirements. • With Department Chair concurrence, academic credit may be applied toward courses in the major field of study. • Four (4) hours of credit for honorable military service may be awarded and applied to elective requirements.
Credit for military training and education is determined by Registrar review of documents, to include the following: • Joint Service Transcript • Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (Form DD-214) • Other service school or military academy transcripts.
For the Public Administration program only, a maximum of 15 academic and service-credit hours may be applied to general education or elective course requirements. No transfer credit may be applied to courses in this major.
Post-9/11 GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon Program, and Tuition Assistance: • Flagler College’s annual tuition is below the Post-9/11 GI Bill national maximum for private colleges, so Yellow Ribbon Program is not necessary. • Tuition costs are covered by 100% Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, up to the maximum 36 months of entitlement. • VA School Certifying Official onsite. • Active duty and National Guard may use Tuition Assistance and EDD benefits.

Career Development Center Flagler College’s Career Development Center (CDC) offers a comprehensive approach to students’ professional development both on campus and as a contributing member to the community. The CDC staff helps students explore and prepare individualized career plans during their first two years of study, and later supports and encourages students preparing for transition to the workforce after graduation. Students have the opportunity to connect with alumni, employers, and campus members, interact with industry professionals, and access a variety of job search resources. alumni services All Flagler graduates are made lifelong members of a dues-free Alumni Association, which provides a professional network of over 16,000 alumni. While enrolled at Flagler, students may meet with members of the Alumni Relations staff to be put in personal contact with alumni who work in desired fields for the purpose of internships, mentorships, or potential full-time employment after graduation. There are regional alumni chapters across the state of Florida, and throughout the country, to facilitate networking beyond graduation. This includes five chapters in Florida, as well as chapters in Atlanta, New York, New Jersey, and Washington D.C.
