Every year, August 9 pays tribute to Indigenous communities around the world. It is a time to raise awareness and continue the pursuit and protection of rights for the Indigenous population. In addition, it is a day to reflect on the achievements and environmental contributions Indigenous people have made to help better our planet.

August 9th is International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, a day to raise awareness and support for the rights of the estimated 476 million Indigenous people living across 90 countries. Indigenous people are those who live in their native area and speak their ethnic language. They have their own cultures, traditions, languages, and governing systems. On this day, people can show their support by listening to podcasts or media created by Indigenous people, supporting Indigenous-run businesses, donating to local Indigenous communities, sharing information about the holiday on social media, attending in-person or virtual events, and taking action to protect Indigenous lands.
