Hollow structure design brings better elasticity & flexibility, which is charming and makes joyful using experience. Besides, with plenty of color and material schemes and different function types in series, it becomes easy to meet both consumers and professionals' need.

Wireless charging LED light concept


WIRELESS MOBILE EASY TO USE AFFINITIVE TRADITIONAL EXCLUSIVE The prevalent lamps are mostly unable to move because of the power cable, and unable to continue lighting when the power fails. Most people use flashlights, cell phones, candles, etc. for lighting when a power failure. And the insignt comes out: there is a need for a lamp which is with built-in battery that could make it keep lighting when a power failure. We want to design a lamp which is wireless and light that can be moved to anywhere. Meanwhile, the lamp which also should be beautiful, attractive and unique. This lamp draws the shape of a traditinal lantern and oil lamp, which makes people feel familiar. With built-in lithium battery, it ensures a full charge to keep light in case of power failure. The lamp will charge automatically when the power is on, and automatically disconnected after full charged.


CHARGING BOARD

Put the wireless charging board anywhere you want to charge your lamp. With the touch control switch, you can control the lamp on the dock. Also you can put your keys, wallet, or any little stuffs on the charging board when you return home, so you will be reminded to carry them on before you go out. Meanwhile, we provide two types (black walnut/polished aluminum) for consumers. There is also a wireless charging stand for choice.


COLORS, MATERIALS & FINISHES

The soft calf leather handle provides a comfortable experience when you pull it up. The black walnut cap upgrades the quality to a high level. The polished aluminum case makes it durable and light. The frosted glass makes soft light.


TOUCH CONTROL SWITCH

With the new touch control switch, you just need to swipe the touch sensor to wake it up, and drag the light strip to control the light intensity. Power Indicator Touch Control Switch

At Lenovo, we had access to amount of ultrabooks (some even developed in progress). Most of them were the best-selling devices from different companies in the market. So that we could get fully experienced all these great products to help us find their own advantages and disadvantages.

CONCLUSION •Most people have less understanding of ultrabook, and tend to choose ordinary notebook. Meanwhile, they concern more about cost of the notebook. •Most of the sales staffs and consumers have less passion on the ultrabook, espcially with touch screen, flip function etc. Most of them think this functions are just nothing but fancy. They would more choose tablet + notebook. (Do users really not need a touch screen, or we did not provide a good experience?) •Laptop users need high compatibility, fast input, and lighter weight, longer battery life, higher portability. What is exactly the experience that users need? (A faster horse?)

CONCEPT

We want to design an unique ultrabook for free-lancers just like Neil. With extraordinary performance, incredible weight, brand new using experience, it will not only be an ultrabook, for its owner, it is like Alford for Batman, J.A.R.V.I.S. for Ironman, and Lightsaber for Master Yoda. That is what we focused on.


PROTOTYPE

Initially we made a rough one to demonstrate the possibility of our ideas, then we made a delicate model for the final launch. For better display effect, wo also made some posters and a short video.



LAPTOP MODE

Use your ultrabook as an ordinary laptop


TABLET MODE

Close the keyboard to transform it to a tablet


SHARE MODE

With two-sided screen, you can easily share your ideas and communicate with your client


TENT MODE

In some narrow places like the plane seat, tent mode provides you a confortable way to enjoy your trip


FEATURES

Two-sided screen design provides better using experience, espcially in tablet mode. Thanks to its flat back, people would not have bad feelings like the first generation yoga. Share mode also give people like free-lancers a new way to communicate with their clients. Stereo system is also in both side for better effects. Meanwhile, the spine part, which contains the whole circuit board, not only feels better, but also gives battery a big space under the keyboard for longer battery life.


FINAL LAUNCH

After 3 days workshop, exhausted but rewarded, finally we received a very good response from Lenovo.

ELEMENTS

After a full discussion and research, five typical elements below were chosen to be the key elements of this project. (namely Trust, International, Brand name, Material handling equipment, and Package)



RECONSIDERATION

Even I attempted many times, I did not get an ideal solution. I decided to start over and reconsider, then I tried to simplify unrelated things as much as I could to highlight the five key elements.


FINAL SOLUTION

I finally decided to use regular hexagon as the basic shape, which resembles a box. Meanwhile I used positive and negative shape to represent the other key elements.

FEATURES

By using the same technology platform of model S15, we can reduce the cost. While with the mature manufacturing process, it will reduce risk to launch a new product as well. The great commonality ensure every present Oral-B Pulsonic toothbrush heads will match this new one. Over molding process connects different characteristics of materials well, and provides better waterproof and feel. Every details makes this product delicate, and inherites the brand genes of Oral-B. The new designed charging dock gives enough space for cabel storage.


PATRA

Breakfast solution based on Chinese eating habbit


BACKGROUND

With the rapid development of society, the pace of life gets increasingly fast. Most people now are living with an unhealthy lifestlye, for instance, most people today do not eat breakfast due to different kinds of reasons. In this case, I intend to give an easy and quick breakfast solution based on most traditional Chinese eating habbit.



CONCEPT

No matter north or south, gruel and eggs are one kind of most prevalent accepted breakfast for Chinese. And with different ingredients, people could make a variety of flavors of gruel. PATRA provides an easy and quick way to prepare your breakfast.


INSTRUCTIONS

To use PATRA to make gruel, you just need to prepare the ingredients you like (e.g. rice, meat & Chinese cabbage etc.), Put them into the big pot and set it up before you go to bed. When you wake up the next day morning, a pot of delicious gruel is prepared. At this time, you just need to put the eggs in the egg boiler, and when you finish washing, eggs are already to eat, the temperature of gruel is just enjoyable as well.


FEATURES

At the beginning of this case, I wanted to make a product with unity. PATRA is more the an ordinary cooker like egg boiler etc. I tried to consider from customer, to understand what they need. With united components, optimized function, and friendly design, PATRA is destined to be unique.
