And as we head into the warmer affairs of spring, especially in the vast dry heat of Australia we see all different tubes of sunscreen being lathered over the whole body.
But have you stopped to think about what is in your sunscreen? As scientific research continues and Hawaii makes a ban on harmful chemical laden sunscreens, you are bound to be part of a conversation around the ingredients that’s in your tube of white cream this spring and into summer. Chemical sunscreens have been claimed to be damaging our reefs. Now I’m no scientist but my mind instantly goes to ‘what is it doing to my body then?’ It is said that these four ingredients in particular can contribute to a stress condition in our reefs called coral bleaching – Ocybenzone, Butylparaben, Octinoxate and 4MBC.
