Milestone Family,

It’s hard to believe that calendar year 2022 has already halfway passed us by as we wrap up the second quarter of the year. The construction season is well on its way and in full swing. As we look forward, the company has a tremendous amount of work on the books, and the bidding opportunities continue to be abundant. In fact, schedules may be, or could soon be, somewhat tight in a few areas.

The important thing to remember is to never lose focus on our two highest priority business core values according to the “Milestone Way” of Safety and Quality. Remember, safety is both physical and psychological. Also remember, quality is not only the quality of the exceptional products we construct but the quality of life we live. There are so many distractions in the world today that challenge us all on a daily basis that interferes with our ability to remain focused. Stay strong, stay focused and help our teammates out when these situations arise. Always strive to maintain the safest work environment you possibly can producing the high-quality product in a welcoming and trusting environment. There is no deadline or schedule worth sacrificing the safety of any individual at any given time on any given day. Always continue to remember that “Safety is about Family!”

The “Milestone Way” was refenced above. Please pause for a second and reflect on the foundation and magnitude of what it stands for and what it brings to our family. Not a day goes by that in some way or fashion it impacts each one of us. It is who we are and what we do. From a business core value standpoint, our priorities of safety, quality, performance, production, and profit that are listed in that order for a reason. Safety and quality were mentioned above, but it is imperative that we continue to be performance leader in the industry by being the best we can possibly be in every facet of our operations. And of course, we are expected to produce. However, production shouldn’t be doing things faster but doing things smarter and efficiently by properly scheduling, planning, being innovative and executing while always doing the right thing.

The “Milestone Way” also refers to personal core values of trust, respect, passion, and commitment. All four of the values make up and are extremely critical to the “Milestone Way”. All four of those values apply to each of us as teammates every minute of every day. Not just one or two can apply for an individual; it takes all four from everyone to get to where we need to be. They are the same values for everyone no matter the role you hold or years of experience you have. It is extremely important that each of these values are instilled and demonstrated daily for this team to be as successful as it possibly can be.

I appreciate each one of you more than you know. Stay safe, always do the right thing, and find joy in a job well done!
