Eretria GREECE Amaronda Resort & Spa is located in Eretria, a seaside town on the island of Evia which is the second largest island in Greece. The north of the island is where you’ll find natural beauty in abundance with verdant green landscapes and waterfalls whereas the southern area of the island is known for its beautiful beaches. Visitors interested in Greek history and culture must pay a visit to the Chalkida, which is the largest of Evia’s cities and boasts a number of ancient landmarks including the Temple of Isis, the Macedonian tomb of Erotes, the Eretria Museum and much more. The capital city of Athens can be reached conveniently by car, and is located roughly one hour’s drive away. From the instantly recognisable Acropolis to the quaint areas of Plaka and Syntagma, Athens stretches its urban limbs in all directions. Among romantic multi-coloured houses, you’ll find pedestrianised streets that abound souvenir shops and cafés and there are plenty of places where you can pick up great local produce like honey, olives and wine. Wander around Syntagma Square, where you can catch the changing of the guards in front of the Greek Parliament, before escaping the baking midday sun by visiting a cosy taverna or restaurant for some local cuisine.
