HALKIDIKI GREECE
The Daily Telegraph describes Halkidiki as ‘utterly unspoilt’, and with swathes of forest, white-sand coastlines and picturesque Greek villages, they were definitely onto something. The Sani Dunes is located on the Toroneos Gulf, on the most westerly of Halkidiki’s three peninsulas. The city of Thessaloniki is just over an hour’s drive away and more than worth a visit. When there, be sure to
climb the ancient walls at sunset, stop for a cocktail on the waterfront, and visit one of the many UNESCO World Heritagelisted Byzantine monuments. Closer to the hotel you’ll find the Bousoulas bird sanctuary, the traditional village of Siviri and the eerie caves of Petralona, where the oldest human remains ever found in Greece were
discovered. We also recommend a visit to Athitos, just 20 minutes by car. This completely pedestrianised traditional village has cobblestoned streets and a pretty square, as well as plenty of traditional tavernas where you can while away the afternoon.
Sani Dunes HALKIDIKI, GREECE The luxurious Sani Dunes hotel is part of the Sani Resort, an ecological reserve that’s spread across 1,000 acres. Set between the Aegean Sea and the pine forests of the Kassandra Peninsula, it’s home to a large heated swimming pool and a swanky spa with a private steam bath, Thai massage cabin, Jacuzzi and
fitness studio. There’s also a private beach and an open-air theatre. Guests can follow the wetland path along the cliff tops between the Sani Resort and Siviri village, spotting rabbits, turtles and rare butterfly species to name just a few critters. Other free activities include beekeeping
trips, sunset cruises around the Sani Marina, and paddle-board yoga lessons. There are several bars and restaurants on-site, all of which have views of the lagoon pool or sea. For a contemporary, fine-dining experience, with menus created by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini, visit Fresco. Guests after a more relaxed meal should try the Beach House, right by the water.
Stay in a Double Room with Private Garden & Pool View These low-rise rooms have panoramic windows and a private terrace overlooking the gardens and pool. The beautiful bathroom is stocked with exclusive Anne Semonin amenities and fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The indoor space is 33 square metres, while the garden area is almost as big at 30 square metres. Luxurious touches include an evening turndown service and a Nespresso machine.

FULL-BOARD Dine Around Full-board stays at the Sani Dunes are a rather exclusive experience thanks to the dine-around programme. By offering a selection of special set menus across 22 unique restaurants in the Sani Resort, guests will find the choice superb, and the value unbelievable. Guests may use their meal allowance to either select one of the several tailored menus, without extra charges, or order à la carte. If guests choose to order à la carte, the meal allowance amounts to €25 per person (children €12.50) deducted from their total bill. Please note some restaurants will need prior reservation which can be made via reception.
Fresco With dishes created by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini, the innovative meals at Fresco use the finest meats and seafood, alongside the freshest market produce. Contemporary takes on classic dishes make this Italian cuisine an unforgettable experience.
Beach House Mediterranean cuisine is known for being simple yet innovative, and the food at Beach House is exactly that. The highquality dishes are complemented by the venue’s prime beach-side location.
The Market The locally grown and organic vegetables take centre stage in this pool front setting, with Ă la carte menus and a divine breakfast that ensures you start the day right.
SANI Live & Kicking In addition to being a veritable ecohaven, the Sani resort has a number of amazing activities for all guests to take part in. For young and old, from football to diving, Sani has it covered. Bookings can be made from reception or assisted through Sani’s website.
Sani Football Academy in Association with Chelsea FCF Any budding footballers between the ages of 4-16 have the opportunity to train with the 2017 Premier League champions Chelsea FC. With two sessions running per day from April – October, your child can wear the colours of the champs and take part in an amazing training session. Please note this comes at an additional cost. There is also a 10% discount for additional children in the same family.
Beekeeping Tap into Halkidiki’s 2500 year old beekeeping tradition with a free trip (runs daily) to learn about bees. Meet the bees in their natural habitat, learn about their incredible life and sample some of many local honey products.
Birdwatching With the extensive Sani Wetlands so close to the hotel, you can attend a private tour to spot the area’s amazing array of aviary animals. Guests attending even get a complimentary edition of the Sani Wetlands coffee table book.
Scuba Diving For diving enthusiasts, or those who want to try for the first time, the Sea World Diving Centre at Sani Beach has the best equipment and professional PADI instructors. They also organise a wide selection of under-water excursions including a visit to a ship wreck. Please note this comes at an additional cost.
