‘Darling, It wouldn’t be a party without you’
Celebrate life FleuraMetz is celebrating its 50th birthday and we wouldn’t be FlowerTales if we didn’t join the party. There will be many changes this year, FlowerTales is developing at high speed. Over time, the web shop will be fully integrated with the FleuraMetz web shop. The FlowerTales Magazine will also become a much bigger inspiration platform. So, besides celebrating there is also a lot of work to be done! The past few years were focused on generalization and getting rid of stereotypes. We do not want to be labelled by society anymore and we shouldn’t. We have been on our own personal quest over the past few months and now we are comfortable in showing the world who we are. Home is the place where most people feel comfortable and at ease. This is worth celebrating and therefore, we would like to share this tasty recipe with edible flowers with you.
Ingredients 125gr sugar + 50gr for the cream filling 5 eggs 130gr self-raising flower, sifted 400gr Greek yoghurt 250gr mascarpone 200ml cream (min. 30% milk fat) 20 cl lemon extract Zest of 2 lemons Blueberries, raspberries and edible flowers for decorating Preparation 1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Whisk the eggs with the sugar until light and airy. Carefully mix in the flour using a spatula. 2. Grease a baking tray with butter and lightly dust with flour. 3. Carefully remove the cake from the tray and let it cool down on a cake rack. Whip the cream into soft peaks. Mix the cream with the mascarpone and Greek yoghurt. Add the lemon extract, lemon zest and sugar and mix well. 4. Cut the cake into three even layers. Put the bottom layer on a cake plate and spread with a thick layer of cream and berries. Put the second cake layer on top and repeat with another thick layer of cream and berries. Finish with the top layer of cake and another spread of cream, berries and edible flowers (e.g. violas, marigolds…).

Mother’s Day Mother’s Day: a special day to show our love and gratitude to mum. This collection expresses our feelings of true love for her: she looked after you when you were young and feeling poorly. She knows you the best, is there when you need comforting or when you need advice. The message is clear: ‘Mum, I love you’. In this collection, we see a few pots that were also part of the Valentine’s Day collection. Love is for everyone and therefore a great reason for re-using these pots! The colours of this package are soft and sweet and will appeal to the majority of customers.
Flowers: anthurium Nunzia, delphinium Ballkleid, garden rose Beatrice, matricaria Victory Enkel, rose Kahala-BB
The flowers in the round picture above: Sweet peas, delphinium Ballkleid, garden rose Beatrice, rose Kahala-BB. This colour combination is soft and has an overall gentle look. This soft and gentleness is created by the colours pink, flamingo pink, orange and purple. The plants from the Mother’s Day collection are also flowering plants.

The chair in the picture on the left is used in the Sensum collection. This retro beach chair from the 60s is making a comeback. It will look wonderful at home if you want to create an outdoor atmosphere inside or perfect for in the garden. It also makes a great seat for mum to enjoy the sun in style.

MOTHER’S DAY SPECIAL 8
FLOWERS ARE ALWAYS A TREAT
Bloemen worden altijd gegeven als Flowers have always been given as presents, to yourself or to someone else, meaning that the wrapping of a bouquet or plant with pot combo is just as important. How do I present a bouquet best or surprisingly to a customer? One of the latest trends is the flower bag. Not only is it practical, it also looks incredibly stylish! A protective gift wrap that enhances the beauty of the actual gift: the bouquet. In line with this trend, we have developed our own flower bag in typical FlowerTales style, simple and in white. This bag fits all style bouquets and allows customers to take them home safely. Another great product is: the hat box! Ideal for plants or bouquets and the perfect gift.
‘I’m not different, I’m not different at all. The wrapping is different but the gift is still the same.’ -Clay Aiken

Make mums happy with peonies and hydrangeas! Would you like a smaller sized flower? How about astilbes? See the garden bouquet in the picture above. The happiness and airiness is infectious and will make a sweet and personal gift to every type of mum, especially if it includes some of her favourite flowers. Let the flowers she loves symbolise the different things we love so much about her.
FLOWER OF THE MONTH
MAY IS THE MONTH FOR PEONIES AND HYDRANGEAS
JUNE IS THE MONTH FOR ALCHEMILLA Take the celebrations to the next level in June with the arrival of summer flowers, such as alchemilla. The leaves are shaped like a mantle and therefore the flower is also known as lady’s mantle. The beauty of lady’s mantle is that they are a musthave in gardens as well as in bouquets. The fine stems may seem delicate but they have a great impact in arrangements and hand tieds! Alchemilla looks amazing together with gentiana, phlox and triteleia, which are also flowers of the month for June.
In this picture, we have mixed Alchemilla with: delphinium, achillea, snapdragon, thlaspi Green Bell, panicum and allium. 10

Trend: colour treated flowers and plants
PLANTS SPECIAL
You’ll either love them or hate them: dyed or colour treated plants and flowers. Why is that? Is it because plants and flowers already come in the most amazing colours by nature? But we have a desire to recreate or perfect it? Maybe. However, the trends also show a different angle.
This year shows at least two trends of dyed or waxed flowers and plants. The trend that gives us the freedom to do crazy things letting us escape reality, Impero verde, has them in its package of course. But also Sensum, the trend that triggers your senses and mixes technology with human elements in a natural way. The signs are clear: we don’t need to hide the fact anymore that we actually love this plant with its quirky stripes! Great advantage to such a coloured layer is the prolonged vase-life. Showing your love to your husband or wife with a waxed rose is a good alternative. Changed your mind on the colour you picked? The echeveria doesn’t allow a repaint unfortunately. New leaves that develop over time simply grow into their natural, greyish-green colour.

Impero verde ALWAYS STAND OUT The signature style of Impero verde is easy to recognize. So are the consumers who are attracted by this style, they recognize it immediately and feel drawn to it. It was not made to fit in but to stand out. It is what it is and it does not need beautifying. Great advantage: thanks to the different shades of green, Impero verde is closer to nature than ever before over next few months.
2300 C Green is the colour of nature but also the colour for health, fit, fresh and organic. Trends that the majority of consumers relate to.
Flowers: anthurium Elixer, calla Gold Medal, achillea Parkers Variety, waxed rose dark lavender, lisianthus Mono Rosanne Green, rose Queen of Africa

This theme is all about fresh greens. The weather is picking up allowing you to implement this new energy in pieces for at home. The green effect stretches beyond the colour of flowers and plants to the hard goods. Mix together with pink and grey tones to let the green elements of this collection shine. The selfevidence of this collection is made possible by the same green colour: we are staying close to nature this season.

‘you can never go wrong with a little pink’.
PANTONE 2374 Yellow has many different meanings and is featured here in the flowers. Yellow is not seen in any of the hard goods, in none of the collections. In flowers on the other hand… yellow is the colour of summer and energy and the flowers in this collection radiate both. In the picture on the left you see: Achillea Parkers Variety
PANTONE 351 We see a bit of gentle pink in some of the bud vases in this collection. It is not a shouty kind of pink but one that is able to tactically balance the overload of green..
The colour palette of these vases create a dynamic effect. Mix with bold colours, such as the waxed rose below.

Sensum EMPATHIC ENTERPRISING Sensum is a mix between technology and human elements. However, the key element empathy this edition is completely human. The main focus of this collection is therefore on lowering the barrier: everyone can relate to this style and everyone is a possible buyer for it. Boundaries are fading: in this collection there are no boundaries. It is a delicate and transparent collection that is open to you and your desires.

Flowers: agapanthus Donau, lisianthus Piccolo Yellow, gerbera Pasta Rosata, garden rose Beatrice, carnation Megan, germini Judo
Sensum is a follow-up of Tenderall. That gentle effect is still there but not in its original sweet form. Harsh colours and robust materials are also present and demand their space. See the tones of dark grey in the stone pots. The flowers and plants of this collection are sweet and alternate between big and small making it very easy to adjust this trend to fit your taste. The sweet colours leave enough room for personal takes and variations, where boundaries fade and outspokenness is absent.

Vero Vito ASSERTIVE AND VULNERABLE Even though travelling back in time isn’t an option, it is something we would like to do very much. ‘If I could turn back time’, as a confident Cher sang back in the 80s. We don’t have to walk away from the present in order to let go. We are ready for the battle.
Black 7C
To prove this, it is ok to show our vulnerability. Show that we appreciate today and also what has been. Vero Vito includes mainly tall flowers and plants. Products that are noticeable in an interior but do not overpower.
Flowers: chrysanthemum Romance Pearl, delphinium Ballkleid, rose Queen of Africa, lily Dark Secret, olive branches and chrysanthemum Haydar.
621 C In line with the description, you will find hard goods in this collection that may seem traditional or outdated even but are so on trend right now. Circles, dots, stripes: familiar elements from the past receive a new, prominent place in the collection. Also notice the choice of materials: they are present but not overpowering. The flowers and plants however, are available in noticeable shapes and colours but the completed look should blend together naturally. Flowering plants are the perfect embodiment of an assertive yet vulnerable character. Nothing is more vulnerable but strong at the same time than a flower bud that is ready to open. This collection translates that energy directly into your living or work room and delivers a sense of peace and quiet. Letting go has never been easier.

LEADERSHIP Are you really listening, or just waiting for your turn to talk? It’s a shame, as you are missing out on lots of opportunities to tap into consumer needs. Active listening is essential for good leadership. Just as much we dislike being labeled, having tasks assigned to us without being asked if we are ok with them, is not the way we want to collaborate anymore. Personal attention and listening to each other is the way forward. This personal attention is translated into our interiors. The desire to create pleasant spaces is growing and with Moesson, people now can. Spaces where people feel comfortable requires accessibility. The Moesson collection supports this accessibility as different types of people relate to this trend feeling very comfortable in it. This feature makes Moesson a powerful leader.
Flowers: anthurium Bellanca, rose Nectarine, santini Doria Current, asclepia Beatrix

Summer settings in Moesson thanks to the colourful and wide selection. It is influenced by different cultures and therefore includes a wide palette of materials, from reed to stone to glass. As you can see, warm colour tones are being mixed with cool shades. Why? Take light and dark grey for example. It brings balance to the collection and keeps the chaos, that frequently come with summer vibes, outside.
