NATURCOR and VINYL Warranty Definitions*
CARPET Warranty Definitions*
Wear-Through Warranty — the ability of Naturcor and vinyl to maintain the wear layer and retain the printed pattern or design. Gloss reduction is not considered wear and is not covered by this warranty. Fade, Stain and Discolor — the ability of Naturcor and vinyl not to discolor from mold or mildew or fade due to natural or artificial light. Rip, Tear, Gouge, Indent — the ability of Naturcor and vinyl to maintain its shape and integrity under normal household usage. Installation — all Naturcor and vinyl rated under the Five Star Selection System carry a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts.
Texture Retention — the ability of carpet tufts to retain their visible shape, as measured by the degree of bursting, opening, or untwisting of the tufts at the surface of the carpet. Stain Resistance — the ability of the surface pile of the carpet to resist stains by foods and beverages. SOIL Resistance — the ability of the carpet fiber to resist color changes due to dry soil deposits. Wear Warranty — the ability of the carpet to resist actual fiber loss in excess of 10% from abrasive wear. CUSHION — affects the wear and performance of your carpet and can maximize the life of your carpet investment. Installation — all carpets rated under the Five Star Selection System carry a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts. MAINTENANCE — Flooring America®’s warranties require compliance with the manufacturer’s recommended care and cleaning instructions and are void if not followed. Please read the manufacturer’s warranty for care and cleaning. Fade Resistance Warranty — the ability for the carpet to not show a permanent color change due to exposure to sunlight or exposure to atmospheric contaminants (including ozone or oxides of nitrogen) for the period specified by the warranty level. Pet Stain Resistance Warranty — the ability of the carpet pile to resist (minimize or withstand) permanent stains from pet (domestic dog or cat) urine for the period specified by the warranty.

LUXURY VINYL TILE WARRANTY DEFINITIONS* Wear Warranty — the ability of luxury vinyl tile to resist finish wear through with proper care and maintenance. FADE & STAIN RESISTANCE — the ability of luxury vinyl tile to not discolor from mold or mildew or fade due to natural or artificial light. RIP, TEAR, GOUGE RESISTANCE — the ability of luxury vinyl tile to not rip, tear or gouge or permanently indent from normal household use. WATER PROOF — the ability of luxury vinyl tile to not change its appearance as a result of everyday moisture and spills. LOCKING SYSTEM — the ability of luxury vinyl tile to remain securely locked with normal traffic and proper care and maintenance. INSTALLATION — all luxury vinyl tile rated under the Five Star Selection System carries a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts.
LAMINATE Warranty Definitions*
Wear Warranty — the ability of ceramic to resist wear-through and maintain the surface finish. Fade Resistance — the ability of ceramic to not fade when exposed to sunlight or artificial light. Stain Resistance — the ability of ceramic to withstand stains when used under normal household conditions. Installation — all ceramic rated under the Five Star Selection System carries a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts. Tile and grout cracking due to subfloor deflection or foundation settling are not considered installation-related.
Wear Warranty — the ability of a laminate finish to resist wear-through from normal usage. Fade Resistance — the ability of laminate to maintain a fresh look and color without fading from exposure to sunlight or artificial light. Stain Resistance — the ability of laminate to not permanently stain from common household use. water Resistance — the ability of laminate to resist water damage under normal uses including damp mopping and topical spills that are promptly removed. Installation — all laminate rated under the Five Star Selection System carries a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts. Moisture-related issues are not considered installation-related.
ENGINEERED STONE Definitions*
HARDWOOD Warranty Definitions*
Wear Warranty — The ability of engineered stone to not exhibit wear-through of the finish. Stain & Discolor Warranty — The ability of engineered stone to retain its appearance and not permanently stain or discolor with normal household use. Rip, Tear & Gouge Warranty — The ability of engineered stone to not rip, tear or gouge or permanently indent from normal household use. Water Warranty — The ability of engineered stone to avoid damage from everyday splashes and spills. Installation — All engineered stone rated under the Five Star Selection System carries a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts.
Wear Warranty — the ability of a hardwood floor finish to resist wear-through under normal residential traffic conditions. Normal exposure to sunlight will bring about changes in shading of any hardwood floor as the floor ages. FINISH WARRANTY — the ability of a hardwood floor to maintain its original luster and finish through proper care and maintenance. MANUFACTURING WARRANTY — determines whether a hardwood floor will be free of manufacturing defects. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY — the ability of a hardwood floor to not warp or buckle. Or, for engineered wood, the ability to not delaminate with proper installation, care, and maintenance. Installation — all hardwood rated under the Five Star Selection System carries a lifetime installation warranty for the intended life of the flooring when installed by our experts. Gapping between boards and moisture-related issues are not considered installation-related.
