Tips for an Easier Camping Trip •
• Camping is a fun way to spend time together as a family, but it can be a lot of work, taking away from well-deserved time off. The amount of stuff taken with you, plus the amount of time that takes to prepare, can be overwhelming – but it doesn’t have to be. Here are a few ways to make your family’s camping trip a little more stress-free:
•
•
Plan a shorter, close-to-home trip. You don’t need to go far away to feel like you’re away. Less driving, plus a shorter trip, equals less travel time, and less items to pack and bring with you. Leave the toys & gear at home. Part of the fun of camping is getting outside and playing; you don’t need toys or games to go for a hike, swim or scavenger hunt. Pack dual-purpose items. Pack oranges for your breakfast, then keep the skins and use them for bowls, cooking food inside them on the campfire. Less dishes = less clean-up.
•
Every man, woman & child for themselves. Each family member grabs a bag and packs clothing, a towel and a toothbrush, plus a plate, cup and cutlery and voila, everyone’s ready to go! Stop worrying. It’s okay if your son forgot his toothbrush or your significant other packed one pair of shorts, after all, you’re camping.
Did you know Swedish Bitters are a natural remedy for insect bites. Bring a bottle on your next outdoor excursion and apply directly to the affected area.
Berrylicious Popsicles Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Divide the mixture evenly among your Popsicle molds. Freeze until frozen, then enjoy.
