The evenings are getting lighter and what a great summer we have ahead. During June and July, the Floral forms part of the cultural programme for the International Festival of Business 2014 and will also be hosting several business events. Then from 13th to 20th July, Wirral once again becomes World Host to The Open and we have a wonderful week of shows as the perfect way to end a great day out. Our large-scale productions this season include: 1950s musical extravaganza Dreamboats and Petticoats; the first tour from the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company; and a new stage adaptation of classic tv comedy Rising Damp. Once again, for music and comedy lovers, the Floral has something for everyone including Billy Ocean, Rhys Derby, Roy Orbison and the inimitable Ken Dodd. Our Homegrown shows keep great local talent centre stage with visits this season from BOST, St Paul’s Operatic Society, Hoylake School of Dance, Wirral School’s Big Band and Wirral Symphony Orchestra, to name but a few. For children and families we bring What the Ladybird Heard, Horrible Histories’ Barmy Britain, Sid’s Show, Peppa Pig, Angelina Ballerina and Miss Giggles. In May, as part of our Keeping it Local initiative, there will be a small fee of £1 introduced on each ticket. Find out more about this on our Booking Information pages. Our new Friends of the Floral membership is exempt from this fee. Learn more about how to join below. Six months after launching our Ambassadors Scheme, the response has been unprecedented, ranging in different ages and walks of life, but all with a passion for this theatre. We have had lots of positive feedback and are now planning more opportunities. Here’s to the next six months. It’s going to be a great summer and we can’t wait! The Floral Pavilion Team

ITV’s top comedy of all time, Rising Damp, comes to the stage in a brand-new production from the Comedy Theatre Company, producers of the stage versions of Victoria Wood’s dinnerladies and BBC TV’s Birds Of A Feather. Rupert Rigsby is the landlord of arguably the seediest, most run-down boarding house that England has to offer.
His unlucky tenants include Ruth Jones, a university administrator, Alan, a medical student and Philip, who is studying Town and Country Planning. Between them, Alan and Philip are the focus and foil of the majority of Rigsby’s many prejudices, usually at the expense of his dignity and standing in the eyes of Miss Jones, with whom he is hopelessly and pathetically in love.
‘A masterwork and a real highlight. Writer Eric Chappell’s fabulous dialogue sparkles to this day... a fantastic night out all-round.’ BRITISH COMEDY GUIDE

KEEPING IT LOCAL
GROUP BOOKINGS
With little of the ticket price going to the venue, fees have become an industry standard, and a necessity, for arts and entertainment venues like the Floral Pavilion.
Group bookings for more than 20 people are available through our dedicated phone line 0151 666 0001 and email floralboxoffice@wirral.gov.uk
The introduction in May of a ÂŁ1 per ticket fee (on up to eight tickets) ensures we continue to offer the best customer service, operating a modern, efficient box office. The main benefit is that Floral Pavilion continues to sell our own tickets and keep the use of ticket agents to a minimum, avoiding higher fees, loss of personal service and venue knowledge.
