Florence police are following up on an armed robbery that allegedly occurred at approximately 10 p.m., Nov. 5, near the 700 block of Nellie Avenue, said Florence police Chief Ron Tyler. Two males wearing white ski masks struck the victim, a male UNA student, with a handgun took $5 from his wallet and fled, Tyler said. Sexual assault investigator named PACE HOLDBROOKS

In light of recent crime on campus, UNA police have appointed Officer Shequanda Jenkins as the department’s Sexual Assault Investigator. Chief Bob Pastula said the position’s purpose is to ensure that sexual assault crimes are handled appropriately in the event of another occurrence. “The position is for someone that knows how to do the investigation and what is required,” Pastula said. “Students will have the benefit of having someone on campus who not only knows how to do the proce-

Campus police have no plans of charging anyone or investigating the matter further, officials said. “The police department has not commented on the Twitter or Facebook postings,” said UNA police Chief Bob Pastula. “The cars were not vandalized; they were only painted with water-soluble paint
