WELCOME Our new Autumn Winter season at the Floral brings a varied and packed programme of music, comedy, drama, family shows and festivals along with some very special events. Last year’s panto was our most successful to date and already this year over ten thousand of you have booked your tickets to see Cinderella (pages 2-3). But don’t worry if you haven’t yet as this year we have an extra week of shows running up to 8 January 2017. We have also included a ‘relaxed’ autism friendly performance which you can find out about, together with our About Autism event in October, on page 32. Some say we are an area of two great loves - music and football - and we have both in our new season. Result is a powerful new
play by Sketty Theatre, a fresh take on the glory and stigmas of ‘the beautiful game’ as six talented young footballers face their final months in a youth training academy. Following its soldout performance at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre, Ball of Fire is The Blue Park Theatre Company’s dramatization of the life of footballer / manager Alan Ball. We have music in abundance with our annual International Guitar Festival (pages 8-9) and no fewer than ten pages of music shows to look through where you will find a wide range of genres and styles to suit many different tastes.
Christmas at the Floral is always a magical, fun time. This year we have more Christmas Party Nights than ever, plus the addition of a Panto Crime Dinner Show. Storytime With Santa is back by popular demand, as is The Russian State Ballet with The Nutcracker. We end the year with a new special event - a New Year’s Eve Classical Gala (page 31).
