WELCOME We are delighted to present our new 2017 Theatre programme from January to May. In February, we see the very welcome return of Middle Ground Theatre Company with the world première stage version of the classic movie THE VERDICT by Barry Reed. The 15-strong cast includes Clive Mantle, Jack Shepherd and Richard Walsh taking the leads in this Academy Award-winning courtroom thriller. In March, Active Drama presents Wirral writer Brian McCann’s musical drama DOWN OUR STREET, celebrating the life and times of Cammell Laird. With drama, comedy and song, Down Our Street is told through

the eyes of the people of Merseyside and brings together a ‘homecoming’ cast including Suzanne Collins, Roy Brandon, Lesley Butler, Lynne Fitzgerald and BBC Radio Merseyside legend Billy Butler. For a family treat at Easter, those Horrible Histories are back, this time with their BEST OF BARMY BRITAIN - a special whirlwind 60 minute show through the best bits of history. RUBY WAX follows 2015’s poignant Sane New World with her new show FRAZZLED!, again looking at mental health from this now expert on Mindfulness. Music at the Floral is always a feast and never a famine, even more so in 2017 with A FEAST OF GILBERT AND SULLIVAN from Much Loved Productions - the producers of Last Night of the Proms and the Viennese Strauss Gala. Original members of the

D’Oyly Carte Opera Company join The British Philharmonic Orchestra in a fun selection of favourites from Gilbert and Sullivan operas. Other music highlights include: the unique vocal talents of EDDI READER; the celebration of 30 years of ‘Hearsay’ from one of the greatest R ‘n’ B singers of all time, ALEXANDER O’NEAL; and British music legend LEO SAYER returns to the UK and comes to the Floral as part of a series of special concerts for 2017. We hope you enjoy looking through our many pages of events and shows here at the Floral and look forward to seeing you soon.

A stunning courtroom thriller made famous by the five times Oscar-nominated Sidney Lumet film with Paul Newman and James Mason. Clive Mantle has been a household favourite for over three decades, with regular roles in hit television series Robin Of Sherwood, The Vicar Of Dibley, Mount Pleasant, White Van Man,

Game of Thrones and of course Dr Mike Barratt in both Casualty and Holby City. Jack Shepherd is one of our most celebrated actors and has a distinguished career in theatre, television and film spanning over fifty years. He is probably best known for his portrayal of Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe in the hugely popular television series Wycliffe.

The cast also includes Richard Walsh (London’s Burning), Peter Harding, Cassie Bancroft, Tom Roberts (Emmerdale / 2point4 Children), Veronica Quilligan, Okon Jones, Michael Lunney, Nuala Walsh, Eugenia Caruso and Jog Maher.
