A vibrant centre of culture, history, business and modern day sustainable living. The re-designing of Kurosaki area is inspired by nature. This is based on the way the Sunflower, which is the symbol of the city, always follows the natural energy of nature through facing the Sun through the day. Our site in Kurosaki is chosen to return the city to its fame as part of the ancient Edo Nagasaki streets, of which Kurosaki is the most famous. Thus, connecting with the rich cultural heritage from it’s past as Japan’s connection to the rest of the world. This is also the focus of sustaining a vibrant economy in the future and connecting the city to international commerce for business and culture.

BLOOM REACT
Drawing from the inspiration of the Sunflower plant that draws energy from the Sun and moves to follow the Sun through the day, the landmark building will us the Sun’s energy. The canopy shaped like the Sunflower petals will have photovoltaic cells that generate electricity from the Sun and this will be used during the night as the petals retract.
1.The removable layer which can influence the condition of the petal epidermis: During the daytime, the light board on the top aborbs the sunlight. After the sun-set, the removable layer goes up and the “petal” fold, shining for the citizens and visitors. 2.The water collecting and reusing system:the ceiling collects the stormwater and transports the rainwater to underground water disposal system which also deals with the sewage. Then the cleann water is pumped up to meet the living needs.
