GALLERYOFDISTINCTION
The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (Florida A&M University) College of Education Gallery of Distinction is a prestigious gallery of elite and celebrated pioneers who have exemplified the highest standards of service in the education profession. The Gallery of Distinction was established to honor and recognize prodigious College of Education graduates and College of Education stakeholders, past and present, in the field of education for their dedication and contributions who have brought honor and distinction through service and support to the College of Education.
Commensurate with the selection criteria, nominees must epitomize the qualities of an exemplary professional or icon for students, faculty, university and the community at large. Candidates must have obtained prominence for their work in the education profession and/or their support for the College of Education.
The general category of inductees will include College of Education educators, philanthropists, humanitarians, supporters, and stakeholders. Longevity of service will be considered for all categories, excluding gifts, donations, or philanthropic activities. The applicants will be selected by the College of Education review committee. The members of the review committee will be named by the dean of the College of Education with representation from the College of Education, public and private sector. Individuals for induction into the Gallery of Distinction may be nominated by members of the College of Education, including alumni and other College of Education contingents.
NOMINATING INSTRUCTIONS
Nominations must be made by submitting a completed College of Education official Gallery of Distinction application. A copy of the application may be downloaded from the College of Education website: WWW.FAMU.EDU/EDUCATION. The application must be typed or computer generated in its entirety. Nominations are limited to one candidate. All applications must be signed and dated. The Gallery of Distinction Committee will make recommendations based solely on the information provided on the application coupled with supporting documents.
