As we go to press, the FTBOA Horse of the Year Gala will once again be held in-person in Ocala on April 25. The event would not have been possible without the supportive sponsors, award-winners, breeders, owners, consignors, agents, and their guests.
The FTBOA also spotlights our Diamond Sponsors. Susan Chu’s Baoma Corp., standing Chitu, Valiant Minister and Tunwoo at Bridlewood Farm, served as the presenting sponsor for the Florida Thoroughbred Charities silent auction. Horse Farms Forever’s paddock onsite was home to Horse Capital Television’s onsite mobile studio for the evening. Brent and Crystal Fernung’s ‘Journeyman Stud – Khozan’ was the presenting sponsor at the cocktail reception with specialties like the Journeyman Julep, Khozan Cosmo, Chance It Corona, Shake Your Mr. Money Maker, and Jameson St. Patrick’s Day. Charlotte Weber’s Live Oak Stud sponsored the winners lounge where award recipients posed proudly for photos with their trophies.
The FTBOA also gives special recognition to those who works behind-thescenes and on stage to produce the highest caliber event focusing on our Florida thoroughbred champions, and they are: Gloria McCoy of Beautiful Moments, BJ’s Trophies, emcee Bobby Neuman, Circle Square Cultural Center, photographer Cynthia Wilson Graham, Dillard’s of Ocala, Florida Equine Communications, Good Time Printing, Charlie DiLibero and Kristin Howard of Fresh Green Tomato Catering, onsite video coordinators Gary Pierre & Gary Manges, 32 Auctions, Horse Capital Television with producer Sean Kaplan and host Barbara Hooper, Kaplan Media for champions video production, photographer John Nevarez, and volunteers Sally Lewis of Brand It, Jesus Lopez, and George Weir.
Florida Thoroughbred Charities Auction
From coveted racing memorabilia and unique gifts to original art, handcrafted goods, quality services, and one-of-a-kind experiences, the Florida Thoroughbred Charities auction online to in-person auction coincided with the FTBOA Horse of the Year Gala. The charity primarily funds the Second Chances Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) farm at the Lowell Correctional Institution giving women there a chance to learn equine skills for gainful employment. FTC also funds youth education including scholarships. TFH
