MESSAGE FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER

Dear Florida Equine Community,

As Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, we at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services continue to stand ready to support the horse industry in managing all animal and livestock-related needs. Known as the Horse Capital of the World®, Florida ranks as the third largest equine state with over 385,000 horses – so I’m encouraged to see the industry’s resilience in meeting the unique challenges of this past year. Whether sales, breeding, racing, police work, polo, rodeo, showing, or equine therapy, the horse industry contributes an annual $11.7 billion in economic impact while supporting over 240,000 jobs. As we reach a new normal, FDACS is proud to partner with the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association and the entire Florida equine community, working together to support and promote this unique and vital industry to our state and way of life. The Florida Horse Farm and Service Directory is a useful resource that provides valuable information for equine-related businesses throughout the state. We hope you will use it for all your equine needs. You can findadditional information, tools, resources, and more on our website at FDACS.gov – and as always, please reach out to our department if we can be of assistance. Together, we will keep Florida growing.
